Going to Orlando early next year and looking to play some February golf.

Any recommendations on courses to try?

Courses near to where I'll be staying are:

Championsgate Golf Resort
Celebration Golf Club
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Falcon's Fire Golf Club
Reunion Golf Course

Thanks!

Those are all nice$$$ courses in the tourist zone...but if u head north about 20 minutes north on I-4 there is a gem called Sweetwater and instead of $100.00 green fees you will pay about 40 bucks with cart

Also check out Magnolia Plantation and Timucuan in Lake Mary.

I'm going to be there for work, so I wasn't planning on renting a car. But it might be worth it to rent a car and go exploring. It'll also make it easier to load up on deals for gear :D

All good choices, but do not go to Mystic Dunes. Locals considered this as the worst course in Orlando. They have a nice driving range...but that is it.

We played "Mickey Dunes" a couple of years ago. Nice to look at but very gimmicky.
Orange County is great but can be expensive. Victoria Hills also very nice and more reasonable.

I would also suggest Southern Dunes, about 20 mins south of Orlando. It's the "high" season during that time, but their twilight rate is worth a look ($59 including range and cart). The course is a real test at 7220 yards from the tips, with 187 bunkers around the course. There's also Diamondback a few miles south of there. Another outstanding course at $55 for the afternoon times at that time of year.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Turns out I may have a few breaks throughout the week to get some golf in, so I'm definitely going to look into the more affordable courses as well, maybe for a quick 9.

I would second the Southern Dunes and Diamondback choices although they are very different courses, but both good value.

Not sure if it is still the case but at one time Southern Dunes was owned by a professional card player. (This was long before the recent surge in this area) It does have lots of sand and is normally in good shape.

Diamondback is very much target golf with lots of places to lose balls. Take some extras.

Have not played celebration in years but did have the chance a few times before they built the community around it. I remember thinking at the time that it might have been the most viusually appealing course I had ever played up to that point.

Although expensive two of the Disney Courses are quite nice as well. I would suggest Osprey and Eagle Pines in that order. The last 3-4 holes on Osprey are a great combination of visual and difficult......one of the strongest finishes of any course I have played.

ocn, stoneybrook west (nice greens), legends, ridgewood lakes, highlands reserves are all "cheaper" courses. grand cypress, disney courses (palm, magnolia, osprey ridge, lbv) are more expensive but really nice courses.
