View Full Version : Most Egregious Breaches of Etiquette
Twi-light Launcher

My top three:
- guy at Pheasant Run on Monday who dragged his pull-cart across every green
- guys at Don Valley ahead of us who, on at least 6 holes, forgot to put the flag stick back in the hole after putting out (just left it lying there)
- guy at Westview, who I know for sure shot over 110, lining up all his putts from both sides (plumb and bob). As I get impatient when trying to finish my twi-light rounds, I started hitting to the green when I thought he should have been finished (rather than when he was finished). I know this is a serious breach of etiquette.
Perhaps someone will reply that one of their top 3 breaches was a crazy lefthanded guy at Westview who started dropping approach shots while they were lining up their 3 footer for triple.

Well the first 2 sound like alcohol:beer: might have been playing a factor or just complete disregard:nono: for everyone else trying to enjoy their round. The 3rd is something that drives me out of my mind. I know we all pay a lot of money for a round these days, but these people who think they are on tour, looking @ putts from 4 different angles like Phil are way out of there league. Speed the game, let's go, drives me nuts.
The other week @ Lakeridge we had a foursome in front that was just killing me, (we tee off @ 7am, hoping most amateurs are a sleep), so we expect a fairly fast round:) , but the Marshall kept insisting that they were right on time  , but these guys could have been at least 15min-20min faster on there round, if they just played ready golf and didn't screw around on the green.
Sorry for venting :$
But you hitting into the green:nono: is probably not the best way to handle the situation. As frustrating as it is, to many thing can go wrong when anger is involved  .
I feel your frustration :help:

Had two guys in my foursome who:
1) Brought 1 orange Ball for 18holes. :hush:  Trust me he needed like 30
2) Other guy in my foursome brought 1 putter
3) These two guys were constantly on their cell phones! Nothing like hearing that stupid nokia tune while putting or tee'ing it up.
4) Had the adding ability of snail.
But I think the biggest breach of etiquette wasnt done by either of these guys but it was done by me. See these guys were friends of my brothers so we ended up drinking a couple of beers after the round. Somewhere between my first and fourth beer I had told about 20 other people about the day I had to go through with my foursome. Ever since then some people call the one guy "1ball"!!!

Ever since then some people call the one guy "1ball"!!! I think that's the funniest golf nickname I've ever heard.
Playing Kleinburg GC with six buddies, I had a twosome father/son team skip the first hole. We had a threesome that teed off first, with our buddies right behind us, but when we got to the second tee this other twosome drives up behind us which confused the hell out of us. So we asked them if they were on the right hole, and they told us they skipped the first hole because they didn't want to wait
They also insisted on hitting off the red tees while we were hitting our second shots. Needless to say the marshal got an earful and they got the message after we gave it to them :p

Played Silver Lakes just yesterday - tournament on behind us with 64 sets of rental clubs in use for the tournament! We were on 11 tee deck, and tunred to see the guy driving his power cart across the first green!!!!!!!!!!!!
C'mon - what planet would you have to be visiting from to know that is a tad offside??

If the amateurs are still asleep, does that make you a professional?
Seriously though, most people play early rounds b/c they know the course won't be backed up.
I've always maintained that if you need to wear a watch on the golf course, you shouldn't be on it.

I had a great time playing Cardinal a couple of weeks back with an out-of-town client when we were paired up with a couple of brothers.
However, the threesome in-front of us .... three boisterous 'punks' in all their glory ... backwardz baseball caps, shorts with the crotch down at the knees .etc ...
we were watching up ahead at one of greens ...
one punk, (the gentleman that he is) takes the flag out of the hole for his friend ... then proceeds to toss the flag ... javelin-like across the green. the flag stuck into the green momentarily, before falling to the ground and unearthing a huge divot.
My client from out-of-town was not impressed with 'Canadian' golfers.:nono:

Hey WESTBEACH, whats your obsession with "professionals"? You mention it in every thread like you have nightmares about guys with tour bags tea bagging you all night while their caddy watches and rubs one out.
