Would anyone be able to speak to the quality of Dunlop Tad Moore Forged MB irons? I have a new set laying around.

I actually emailed Tad at his personal site and h ereplied within hours on a weekend from his Blackberry and said they were of top quality and asked where I got them? Not sure what else he would say anyway regarding quality.

Anyone know much about these? They were made a few years ago when Tad joined up with Dunlop. Not sure if he is still with them.

I dont know much about the irons you speak of but Forging is simply a process by which the steel is compressed and manipulated, nothing more, nothing less.......it is not rocket science and nothing magical no matter where it is done, China, Korea or Japan.

What is most important when looking at an iron is the design and the quality and credentials of the designer. Tad Moore is a good designer and that means something, and should mean more than the brand name on the head ( but unfortunately it doesnt and perception is almost everything in this bus.)

In terms of mb/blades....not a complicated design so ther variability btn different heads is not big although sole grind can be very important

Just to add, forging is a more involved and as such a more expensive process though which is reflected in the price. Now there are companies that will use more steps in the forging process than others ( ie: many and most will use a 3 sometimes 4 step process to keep costs reasonable)but some like Golfsmith and others use a 6 step process)

in the end , dont get caught up on the stamped name, where a head is made, forging is forging ...... a proces by which steel is formed into a clubhead........but do look at the designer of the head as being nb

and Tad Moore is still working and designing he has a line and high end designs with Global Golf in saskatoon, as well as I am sure in other areas as well

Merlot, are you planning to sell the set? If so, how much?
