How would adding a 1" extension to a standard set affect shaft flexibility?

It would play weaker, but I don't think you'd notice.

it will also add 6 swing weight points to your club , if that matters???
how that affects performance , if at all, will vary from person to person

I had this done to my FTX's at Golftown and ended up with some glue coming loose and rattling around inside the shaft - it got pretty annoying after a few swings. As far as the flex change, it wasn't a noticable difference - small enough that no major changes were needed to adapt.

this can happen with inexperienced assemblers, most often due to excess epoxy being used and they set the club to dry in the playing position . this results in gravity causing the excess epoxy to run down the inside of the shaft, and results in a thin icicle that can break off and rattle. ( same can happen in club heads when the bore plug is punctured or removed)
when insatlling extensions always have the club set grip end down
you might be able to get ity out the grip end hole but best to take it back and have them blow off the grip and remove the piece
