Looking at holding our tourney at one of the following courses this year. But not having had a chance to play during 07 at these places, how were the conditions//treatment/food/anything else you might want to add(good or bad) at these courses for any tourneys last year?
Thanks!

I'd stay away from Lionhead, i think its way too over designed.... unless you are in the PRO level, you wouldnt even enjoy this course.. i played the legends course and it was brutally hard. it was 2nd hardest course in the North America somewhere in 2000, if you want to enjoy yet challenge while playing, I would suggest Kedron Dells at the east side. Long course for a cheap price.

I personally think Eagle's Nest is the best among the three.

I would consider Copper Creek as well.

Copper Creek has too many weddings and can't take us. They were at the top of my list.

Eagles Nest is a great place for a tourney, but it will probably be more expensive. I wouldn’t shy away from Lionhead because of course difficulty. Their Master’s course is much easier than the Legends, and even the Legends is very playable from the proper tees (especially if you’re playing a scramble). I think that Bond Head is too far away for a GTA based event. The drive there is OK, but the drive back after a long day and a couple of drinks is no fun at all.
Angus Glen is also a good option.

I agree on all points.

To answer your question, all 3 are good choices as the conditions were good at all 3 courses. They are all pretty challenging courses. If money was no object, I would choose eagles nest 1st, bondhead 2nd and lionhead 3rd choice.

Eagles Nest but it is a tough track

Personally I would avoid Lionhead and I have nothing good to say about any tourney I have been to there.

Bond Head is a bit far, very average course, some quirky holes....food was good

Angus Glenn does a really good job with tourneys...too bad the courses are so bad and wayyyyyyyy overrated

Copper Creek is another consideration for sure,,,,good course

this year marks the 11th straight we will be holding our tournament at lionhead (both courses) and I can say the experience has always been first class, from the initial organizational assistance and right through tourmnament day thanks to a great staff. they have gone out of their way for us and have recommended them on many occasions. True the Legends is tough, and not for everyone, but a scramble format and forward make it much easier.
Often times players confuse bad courses with poor tournament organization, and this is true for all courses.

As a tournament organizer who has done a few at Lionhead and Ealges, Ealges is certainly more expensive but worth it...I think you said they are all booked up. Lionhead...Masters is easier and rates are reasonable. Legends is not unplayable, but certainly more difficult than the Masters. You just have to be sure they put out the range balls and get enough carts for you at the apporpriate time. Yes Copper is nice, what about a clublink course like Diamondback or Emerald Hills. Check into them, good tournament courses reasonably priced. Do you need a Beat the Pro for your tournament?
