Hello TGNers,

I am a very new Torontonian transplanted from Nova Scotia (I was offered a position here in October) who has just gotten back into the game of golf.

At the encouragement of my grandfather I became a member of my local club for three years when I was 12 to 14 but left the game as I found it sooooo frusterating because I couldn't "perfect" it.

Well, I ended up being given free green fee passes for two to a local course last year at the age of 27 and my wife (not wanting to waste anything free :D ) convinced me to go with her (she had never played either but thought it would be "fun"). Well, let's just say I have been sick with "golf fever" ever since.

I'm looking to learn anything I can about golf and instruction in the area. This forum seems great!

A few years ago I was asked to travel pretty much coast to coast for my job and as someone who had only been to montreal I loved it. No offence to the great people here, but I quickly learned that toronto is pretty uptight and reserved compared to the rest of the country i.e. NS, Ab, Va.

In dartmouth on business I am sitting in a bar by myself and ask the table of guys next to me for some advice on where to go what to see. They ask where I am from, tell them Toronto, they in unison say "we're sorry to hear that" start laughing and tell me to join them.
Next thing I know they are pouring me drinks from their pitchers telling the best places to go etc. If you are anything like the down to earth great people there then you will quickly make inroads with this crowd.
Welcome:beer:
