View Full Version : TGN Winter get together

VBall
Jan 23, 2008, 07:59 AM
Hey guys, after reading all the golf sim stuff, I was wondering how many of you might be interested in a get together and play at a golf sim sometime within the next month or so.

Depending on the interest, we were hoping to get a good price. I'm also not sure what format as well. The main focus is to get together and mingle.

Please give us your input and suggestions.

We'll find a couple of places and see what is better for the members that are interested in coming.

Hi Everyone,

I`m helping Vball organize this event and here are more details. Along with
25% off the sims, we will also have 10% off food. We are also going to run some friendly competitions or challenges for prizes. Tee Times Indoor Golf will be donating some prizes as will Toronto Golf Nuts. Its a perfect time to start getting your swing back from winter hibernation and to come out, meet fellow members and have some fun. See you there!

I assume all groups will be playing the same golf course on simulators. Any idea which one? All available courses are listed here:

Also, Nicklaus North Golf Course was added recently, it's on on the website yet.

This is an open event. You can bring anyone you want, they do not have to be a TGN member. You can also play for as long as you want, treat it like you`re going to the range and you pay for what you play with 25% off sim times and 10% off food. Basically its just a casual outting for members to meet other members and to have some fun. Stay for an hour or for the entire time.

We will be having a "closest to the pin" contest with some prizes to give away thanks to Tee Times Indoor Golf, GTA Golf Club and of course, TorontoGolfNuts.com.

For those interested, we will also have a 9 hole tournament on a course yet to be determined. We can do any format. There will be prizes for this as well.

Look forward to seeing as many of you of there!

For those of you who were "maybe`s" in the poll, can you please let me know if you will be attending or not? I would like to reserve the appropraite number of sims. Thanks.

This was buried so just thought I'd bring up to the top.
What: TGN Golf Outing
Where: Tee Times Indoor Golf
When: Saturday Feb. 16th
Time: 1-4pm or as late as you'd like

Tee Times Indoor Golf has agreed to give all TGN members 25% off that day. There is also discount on food. TGN and our sponsor Tee Times Indoor Golf will be donating some fab prizes. We will be holding some contests to encourage some friendly competition. ;) If you want to come and meet members but do not have time to stay and play that is ok too. You may also bring a buddy or two; they do not have to be a TGN member.

If you have not PM'd Vball yet please do that so that we can confirm total attendance. Thanks everyone! See you next week!

No more taylormade 300's in ladies flex?

I am just guessing, but the site says it is an hrly rate for the simulator, not per person. So on an estimate of 3 hours times the advertised rate, then take off 25%, then divide by 4 assuming a foursome in each simulator.........drum roll.....$21 each by my quick calculations. Pretty reasonable.

You`re absolutely correct. Price is based on per sim, not per person. The more that show up, the cheaper it is.

I was there last Sunday. Shot a round at the virtual Wooden Sticks course; very cool!!! I definitely like the high-def screen, and their simulators are the most accurate ones by far. Other than the Launch Monitors off course.

The Sims were terrible!!They didn't show my true distances......I'm kidding of course, it's just my excuse for playing so poorly:rofl: I enjoyed playing the Nicklaus course with Newbie, Orbeat and Gil. If the sims were any more HD, we'd all have grass on our soles. The only thing missing was the trees waving in the wind. It was fun watching the guys try to stick it on the "closest to the pin" and bomb it on the "longest drive", I almost busted an artery with that and still never got the ball anywhere.:D All in all a most enjoyable afternoon. TGN's golf outing at Tee Times Indoor Golf had a great turnout. Thank you to the members who came out. Also, we want to thank Nils and his team at TTIG for their hospitality and great service and discounts for our members. Extra thanks to TTIG for their generous prize contributions. We had 5 sims going and 4 different courses that were played. We can't wait to go back and try out the other golf courses. But without further ado here are the winners of the contests:

Long Drive Winner at 293.5 yards is imAnewbie (albatross hit a 320 yard drive but it was OB!)
Prize - 1 hour of play at Tee Times Indoor Golf

Closest to the Pin Winner at 6.5 feet from the hole is Big Shooter
Prize - a 2 ball Callaway putter

Low scores of the day belonged to: Big Shooter, ebaj1, ToughPar3 and QSchool. Each of them walked away with a Molson cap and beer stubby coolers.

And every member walked away with a sleeve of golf balls donated by TGN.

Keep it on the short grass guys!

I feel your pain, I hit a 6 iron on the closest to the pin (165 yards), and could only manage 190 yards with the driver! :$

Oh, pain it is! I saw my son hit 8-iron on that "closest to the pin" thing and watched his ball fly the green. It was then that I realized I was an old geezer posing as a tour pro.
