Tennessee is about 12 hours, they have some excellent courses that are run by the State Parks, Harrison Bay is excellent and very affordable.

I just joined this web site. Looking to do the same. Perhaps sharing the gas and driving. My times are flexible. Please email me if interested: kirinarts@yahoo.ca

I travelled to Panama City two winters ago. We drove down I-75 to Cincinnati, then I-71 to Louisville, then I-69 down through Nashville, Birmingham and Montgomery, then Hwy 82 to Dothan and finally Hwy 231/ 75 to Panama City. This route is within 10 kilometers of driving down I-75 through Atlanta, but is a lot quieter and more relaxing. There is just way too much traffic on I-75, especially truck traffic. And going through Atlanta is a nightmare if you hit it at the wrong hours of the day. Take the I-69 route over I-75.
While you are in Panama City, play the Hombre Golf Course. It has 3 nines, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. It's reasonably priced and fun to play. The Holiday Golf Course is OK, but relatively flat.

A better way to get to Panama Cty is to go down I-65. Kenny Perry has a gem of a course near Franklin, Kentucky.
