So with Faldo going out on a limb to say this is the year for a Grand Slam not just a Tiger Slam. What do you all think? I'd like this thread to capture your predictions for Tiger's year.

I'm going to say that he wins 2 Majors and at least 7 PGA victories this year.

At least is not a prediction. Exact numbers please.:D

With 62 wins in 13 years avearging at around 4.7 tourneys a year I'm sure he will do better by far, figure 3 majors and 7 pga events should he enter many of them.

The way he is playing, his swing looks much better than a couple years ago, his accumulated wisdom, the fear in the field, nobody can hang with the Tiger show on Sundays, the fact he said he would win 4 majors, I'm picking 4 majors and a 50% win ratio on the PGA Tour.

Barring injury.

The look in his face and eyes was different this weekend from anytime I noticed before, he is on a mission, calm and determined, to be cliche he has the eye of a tiger.

We are witnessing the greatest golf ever played.

2 Majors, + 3 more PGA Titles (and he will NOT win The Players Championship!), mind you he doesn't play that many full-field events other than The Majors! ;)

He will win the first 3 major this year, and come 3rd in the 4th. Also he will will 7 other titles this year.

His putting is damn near unconscious.

One thing he'd better fix is his driving accuracy. He hit less than 50% of fairways at the Buick and as good as he is, he won't get away with it when they let the rough grow for the majors.

I doubt he will win more than 2 majors.

He could have won last year at the Master and US Open, but on both sundays, Zach and Angel played out of their minds.

If Woods plays at courses where he can't pull away and run into hot golfers, he will have problem winning.

Agree.....this would be the only weakness in his game. However with his ability to recover and his short game and the fact he HATES making bogey's he may still be able to get around that poor stat. Every golfer in the world has an aspect of his game that would considered "weak". With Nicklaus it was his chipping and bunker play. As Jack had said himself he knew his weakness but he compensated by elevating other aspects of his game. In Nicklaus' case he made up for it in his accuracy tee to green, and his putting.

TIger makes up for his weaknesses by his creativity and his stellar short game. So having said that I think the only 2 tournaments that Tiger will struggle in over the course of any year will be the US Open and/or the PGA. Every other tournament (including the 2 other majors) missing fairways isn't a big deal for Tiger because he is so strong out of the rough he can get it close to the green and up and down it for his par.

I also think we will see an improved stat from him this year off the tee. Thing is with Tiger he works very hard on his weak parts and it becomes almost a vendetta for him to fix his errors. His work ethic and focus on the range is as good as his play during the actual tourament.

Predictions are fun to make, and it is not totally out of the realm that he could win EVERY event he is scheduled to play in.

I will be very p!ssed off when he is stuck at 17 or 18 majors for a couple of years.

My stand has always been that I want him to win 19 majors ASAP so that I could move on from watching golf on TV so much.

He seems to have a challenge this year. His family life is on track and he is in the posiiton where he can concentrate on his game and seems the last two months he stated he has been practicing to make this a good year. For him that might be scary. lol

We'll see I think he will have a great year but their is alot of talent coming up to challenge him and if they can get their mind set right. He will have to work at it in some tourny's. I would think he will win 3 majors and 6 events.

2 Majors and 8 events including WGC and European Tour. I think he`ll win the Masters and US Open but somebody is going to surprise is this year with their first Major! I do think Tiger will finish top 3 in all the Majors this year.
More focus, less distractions, better mindset, total control of his game, his putting is insane and he`s saying he`s in the best game shape ever!

Grand Slam. It's over 40 to 1 odds with book makers currently. I am here.

Well he has already won alot of tournamnets with Major style rough. 3 wood or irons. The rough was not that far off US Open conditions last weekend. 10 strokes worth, maybe but imagine everyone elses scores too. It's still mostly long or definitely longe rthen average players winning most major events. Phil, Vijay, Tiger, Campbell, Ernie, Goosen, Ogilvy etc....

Guys like Weir and Johnson and Furyk can win but have to make every putt and almost zero mistakes. Obviuosly something that cannot be done consistently. If JF was longer, he would have won another major by now.

Ya this is also true. TIger can hit stingers and 5 woods and still have mid-short irons into the greens. Tiger has so many different shots in his bag and is strong enough he doesn't have to hit driver all the time. Even if he gets wild with his driver on par 5's he can still hack it out and make birdie.

Hmmm....need I say PRACTICE YOUR SHORT GAME? TW is currently t-4th in GIR, T-11 in putts per round, and T-162 in driving accuracy (out of 180 pros)!

I read that Butch Harmon commented on Tiger's swing. Stated it was not suited for the driver because of his 'drop' down into the ball.

I think he just swings to hard for a 45 inch club and should go back to 43 inches.

He develops the yips when he misses a 3 footer and they haunt him for his career, never wins again. Seriously, I've watched him for 12 years, never seen that many putts go in, even with a shaky driver -WOW. He'll win Masters, US Open by 12 and British, Mickelson spoils the party at PGA. 9 Tour wins-

I think he will win the Masters and the US Open. By the end of the year he will be in 3rd place closing in on Jack if he goes through the Fed Ex playoffs. Interesting days n'est ce pas?:)

That would be exciting. Mickelson trying to hold off a charging Tiger and spoiling his chance at a GS.

It is sometimes easy to over react over just one win, but he seems so much better, you wonder if he will lose this year.

But golf is golf and Tiger is just a man playing a game where a bounce can make all the difference to a round.

2 majors, 5 PGA wins.

Ok Dave. No sweat off his back even with his driving inaccuracy. I say 2 Majors and 8 other PGA tour wins.

Tiger will win every other tournament he will enter including all 4 majors if they fall into the proper rotation on the PGA Tour. He will win every other event he plays in..:cookoo:
