I had planned to regrip a few clubs tonight but instead I find myself working late upgrading a server. Who feels bad for me? ....... :(

Don't feel bad, I get to use this time as lieu time later in the year to play some golf. :)

Better to be working this time of year than during the spring/summer... I'd feel bad for you then

No sympathy from me....I work crazy hours all end of season/winter long for the same reasons as you. I already get 6 weeks vacation to start, add up the amount of OT/lieu time I've banked and I could easily take the entire summer off......now if only my boss thought that way.

That's what I hate about IT... the irregular hours and being on call. My thoughts are with you.

The banked hours and time off when you want it is nice though.

Well, at least it is not 20 degree, sunny out and sunset at 10 pm :)

I plan all major system changes for the non-golfing months when ever possible so there will be no conflicts.

Last nights project was a failure and after 3 1/2 hours (more than 2 hours in queue for support) we rolled back to an operational state. Bummer it wasn't successful but on the up side it means there is more OT to be scheduled in the near future.

I'm luckier than most because I work 2 minutes from home so staying late is less of a burden.

i work 7AM to 6PM Monday to Friday and 7AM to 3:30PM on Saturdays.

When my staff work the same hours as me they get paid
40 hours (straight) + 20.5 (1.5x) = 70.75 hours of pay ...

hey, i just realized that all the peeps i manage get paid more than me! :(

Good on you for getting the time off later. I'm stuck up in Ottawa all of this week starting from SUnday and not getting home till late Friday. I don't get anything extra for my troubles.

I am sure the high 5 to 6 figure digits in your salary (excluding the 0's after the decimal) make it all the worth while as well. I am sure there are some burger flippers out there wishing they didn't have to work extra hours for minimum wage. :D Well my fries are burnin' gotta get back to it. :hyper:

Sorry but you must have me confused with someone else. Contrary to popular belief us poor municipal workers don't make the big money.
