Watched Rock Star: INXS tonight for the first time. Pretty cool!

No "fromage" ala American Idol , Canadian Idol, etc. on this show.

Total Rock!! These folks sing real rock songs, Nirvana, Queen, REM, Stones, etc.. No Barry Manilow tributes on this show :rofl:

This contest is hosted by Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chiles) and a yummy Brooke Burke :p , and the winner will be the new INXS lead singer. A few Canadian contestants are in the mix too.

There's a couple of really refreshing concepts in this show:

1. song choices aren't gay - no whitney houston or celine or barry manilow
2. no "ah-ight, dawg" or "you looked really beautiful" comments

There does seem to be two front runners: Jordis and Ty

Of course, so what? It's just some fun without having to dig deep into the cerebral cortex. That's all I expect from mainstream TV.
