Went up Saturday found out it has been closed for repairs. I phoned and told they hope to have it open by Tuesday

Two of them in the same week? What is their insurance up for renewal? Weird that neither would have been smart enough to get the ice professionally cleared.

Make that "Three"
Twelve people in Orangeville received minor injuries when the Fitness dome deflated in less than 30 seconds during the past week.

I don't know how the ice could possibly be professionally cleared, as there is so much snow around the base it would be hard to get any kind of bucket truck near. (Anybody know how they do it?)

As a side note, the dome in Chingacousy park in Brampton deflated 5 or 6 years ago when
someone climbed to the top and stuck a knife in it.......
This act sadly resulted in a "Death by Misadventure",,

same way a plane is de-iced. its a service they pay for in which an extendable crane comes out and physically and chemically removes the excess ice and snow. If you don't like you said above, not only is there the problem of the canopy deflating, but people being injured.

Yikes, it's like someone doesn't want us swinging clubs in winter. Waterside had trouble last weekend -- not with the dome collapsing, but something to do with the nets on the upper deck. They couldn't open the upper deck, and had to move us all up past where the nets were hanging down. The place is overcrowded at the best of times. Taking away the upper deck made the problem worse.

Wow. What do you think it would be like with the dome coming down when the place is packed?
