Decided to join after too long taking advantage of the Nuts on this forum for info, advice and entertainment.

I know, I know: I live near Kingston, not in TO. So please be kind to an outsider.

It's a nice place to live for a golf nut, because within about 40 minutes I can reach (ranked in order of quality and enjoyment, IMHO) Smuggler's Glen, Black Bear Ridge, Trillium Wood, Rivendell and Loyalist, plus a bunch of lesser courses (Camden Braes, Westbrook, Amherstview, Glen Lawrence, etc). Even Timber Ridge is within reach about an hour away. As a bonus, it's comparatively easy to get a tee time -- especially for a guy like me who is able to play on weekdays.

Hey, we're even getting a Golf Town in a few weeks!

Hello Kingstongolf,
Welcome to the board. Nice list of courses of which I have enjoyed all but Rivendell. Don't worry about the distance from TO. I'm only 40 minutes from you in Belleville (Trillium member).
Let me know when that golf town opens as I have a gift cert that is burning a hole in my pocket.

Welcome to the Nut Bunch! Maybe I'll run into you on one of my "road trips" to Montreal and Ottawa. BTW, I too am very fond of Smuggler's Glen and Trillium Woods.

Trillium member? Ah, I'm jealous! I thought about joining, but TW is just a tad too far to be making that trip as often as would be necessary to make a membership pay. I also thought about Rivendell, but it doesn't have a driving range. Loyalist is 15 minutes away, but it's way overpriced. The closest course to me is Camden Braes and it's very inexpensive, but it's a bit of a farmer's field type of course. Hmmm. Trillium is looking better all the time...

Just drove past the under-construction Golf Town (near the Best Buy), and it has a new banner saying "Opening Soon".
