View Full Version : Harry Potter
Anyone else here a Harry Potter fan? I couldn't put the 6th book down and can't stand being left on a cliff hanger again. Write faster!!!
I don't want to spoil the book for anyone... but I'm so sad at the ending :(
I heard she has the plot for Book 7 already, she just has to write it.

I read it and enjoyed it, even though it felt a little formulaic. I like that they're all growing up and going through their teen things. And, yeah, the ending was sad. I actually cried a little! Book 7 is the last, right? Rowling has a lot to wind up in that one. I wonder how she'll manage it all...

It was okay, not bad. Its fascinating to see the transformation of the characters and author through the series. I'm just glad that Harry was not as annoying as he was in the last couple of books. I didn't really have a problem with the ending but for others that expect an upbeat ending, this was not. For some reason I see this series moving into the adult fantasy genre like the good old David Eddings books... I guess the books are growing up with its readers.
I never found Harry annoying, just human, which makes him do stupid things from a third person perspective.
AnnikaFan, those are cruel friends you have!! Spoiled the ending for two books?! tsk tsk.

I know!!...
well actually..i overheard them talking about the death of someone after the 6th book came out...so I assumed that person is the person who died in the 6th book...
then i was talking to another friend who already read the 6th book....and i asked her what she think about the death of that person (the person who i heard that died)..and then she gave me a weird look and said, "no..that person died in the 5th book...THIS is the person that died is the 6th"..
yea..that's how I know who died in both books :P

Are the Harry Potter books really that good? No offence to all you Potter fans but what's with the hype with this anyways? I can understand why kids love it, but why's the adults all in to this too? Please shed some light..!
It sounds like you haven't read it... so I recommend it. The author's really good and creating a whole different world, all the riddles, spells, characters really come to life and all make logical sense (for a fantasy novel). The story is a mystery from the beginning, it's funny, light hearted yet dark at times, it teaches good morals, the characters are human and make human mistakes.
Those are some of the reasons I love this story and I can't put them down. Don't watch the movie, just read the book. It's a lot better with your own imagination.

I loved all the movies but still have yet to read even the 1st Harry Potter book. I blame it on lack of time. I normally love to read so I am sure I'll read Harry Potter one day. :$

I am reading it right now, inbetween practice work and work. I am not a reader at all, and I have read all the Harry Pothead, i mean Potter books. I will kill anyone who gives away this book so please do not ruin it for me.
They are an easy read and for some reason I can actually follow them better than the other books I have read. Hummmmm, maybe this tells me that I should read more often, other than childrens books. See Jack run, see Jill play. Now that is more my style.

I can't beleive he is dead, dead I tell you. Who could kill him, why would he do that? I just can't beleive it. Harry will get him for this, why would Hagrid do that, he must have been under the imperius curse or something. I cannot wait for the next book.
