hmm we all remember don't we? A couple months ago when Ian Poulter said those infamous words: I haven't played to my full potential and when that happens, It will be just me and Tiger soon enough.
So this thread is for you to talk about other pro golfers on any tour who shoot from the lip, and think they are better than what their stats suggest in the world of professional golf. Who has left himself/herself open to mockery or ridicule and accusations of arrogance? Is it really frowned upon to say that you think you are good enough to be up there next to Tiger? Why can't a golfer say that one day he/she will beat the records set by the world's greatest golfers. Should only Tiger get that right? Does Figjam come to mind... oh wait Phil actually does have stats to back it up but maybe just not on certain Sundays.

I think too much is made of this sort of thing.

People always complain that no one wants to step up and say "I'm going after Tiger". Then when someone does, they say, "Oh my god, I can't believe he said that! Who does he think he is?" And then they run to Tiger and tell on the guy so that Tiger will get mad and eat him.

The media's begging people to say they're gunning for number one, and then when someone does, the media paints them as arrogant and delusional.

x 2...

Probably goes to show golf is rather boring when it comes to newsworthiness...

Guys like Poulter and Sabbatini need, for their own good, to not answer questions with the word Tiger in them.

I learned it a long time ago in basketball. You can't talk $hit if you ain't the $hit.

So if they wanna talk, they'd better win in fields that include Tiger.
