does anybody know of any places in toronto where i can buy a regrooving tool, just got an older set of irons and thought it would help with the restoration... I've seen on golfsmith the "club medic", any reviews on this thing?

I got one from golfsmith but it's not the cubmedic on. Mine looks like a screwdriver and man is it sharp! My only advice is to be careful because they can leave quite a scratch on the face of the club if you slip.

The Clubmedic isn't bad. The sharpening tip was a bit wider than my Vokey and Cleveland wedge grooves and did not fit the grooves. I had to thin down the width of the tip on my grinder so that it fits in the groove.

what are your thoughts on using it on an older set of irons??
are any of you guys willing to part with the tool??
I have no problem ordering it, but I'm very impatient and would much rather have it in my hand asap...

How much do they cost? Can you get one without ordering it? (i.e.: Local golf shop)

I bought my regrooving tool from Golftown. It cost about $9 bucks. Easy to spot as it has a see thru neon green handle.

I think you really have to make sure that the tool fits properly in your grooves. Otherwise you'll find yourself widening/sharpening the grooves too much and I think that would be counterproductive in any irons other than SW/LW. I might be way off base here, but wouldn't aggressive grooves on irons cause shots to balloon?
I used the neon green one on an old TM RAC SW and the thing became a ball shredder. Simple little chips would check up. Pitches would suck back. It was crazy. It mas my secret little weapon around the greens. Probably completely illegal though.

I did the same thing and find it works really well... make usre you put the club in a vice so you can focus on controlling the tool and not trying to hold the club still and using the tool at the same time.

That would be the club medic.
I do have a V-groove grooving tool that is practically brand new that I may be willing to sell.

Good advice! I've almost slit my wrists before trying to sharpen the grooves. Now I use the vise or prop it up securely for touch up jobs. You can use a file to thin down the tip if needed.
