Okay...So it is now official, Jeff will be hosting his second swap meet...Just in time for the start of the 2008 season!

It will be held at the Swank Golf Studio on Saturday, April 12th, 2008 starting at 12 PM and will run until 3 PM.

Everyone is invited to attend, member or non-member. The only thing Jeff asks is that you swap Golf Equipment only as this is a Golf Forum.

This is a great chance for members to meet Jeff and to see the Studio. You can also check out all the new Golf Gear he is carrying. Some of his new lines are: Srixon, Matrix Shafts, Wishon Golf and Ikasu Golf.

mizuno_mp37

does "swap meet" include the definition
1) turn up with no clubs to trade/sell
2) get seduced by clubs on offer
3) go home and hide new clubs in basement

Why are you 'Tibet-ing' my attempt to sell my driver? Now it is yours. Work that out into your bartering with Jeff. Here's how the math goes:

-I am keeping the xMOI driver which I owe him money for
-you now have to do extra work for him (I suggest a French door at the entrance)

I am happy, he is happy, and you get what you deserve :)

C'mon, now.... I just walked out of Jeff's yesterday with 2 new drivers. I really don't need a third. ( which would actually be a fifth...) I did hit it though... feels sweet. Shaft was a litle soft for me, though.;)

If I did any extra work for Jeff I wouldn't have time to sleep. He called me on Monday with a request and I delivered it yesterday- Now theres service. My other clients have to deal with a 6-10 week lead time....:p

And where do you propose we put a french door, exactly? I think just in the middle of the room, leading to nowhere in particular would be sorta chic....:cookoo:

I'd drink a cab-merlot, if I had to....the problem with merlot, is you have to dish out enough dollars to at least get a decent tasting one. Cab-sauv for me all the wway man....as much as I don't mind going the safe route with merlot, I just find more flavor in this blend. Region specific, of course.

Ice wine to me is just too damn sweet bro. :)

I've got a Riesling IW that I have been cellering for the last 6 years. It was pretty ballanced back then I am interested to see how it has aged. The Cab-Merlot has some pretty decent fruit, has a little franc in it but it is local so I would like to see how this bottle fairs. It held up quite nicely when it was released.

Carb Sauvignon is the stable. Much like cooking lamb, very hard to screw up....

I also have trouble finding Pinot Noir at a reasonable price. Totally different wine but all the same tough to find a good one for much less then $20.

If you really want to have a glass of wine on Saturday, I'd be happy to bring down a Sa' Solin. :D

ahh, Ripasso at a good price if I am thinking of the right one in Vintages. Big bottle with yellow label? $16.95 maybe? Usually sells out pretty fast and you have to drive around looking for a bottle or 2.

Yes, you are correct. Very good price for this Ripasso....a sleeper wine I might call it. Same scoring as the Zenato, but I feel that wine needs a few more years before it comes to life. The Sa' Solin on the other hand, is just an incredible bouquet of berries and chocolate that it's impossible to have just one bottle. :D

I grabbed a case of the Sa' Solin, you can find more if you like at the Bayview/Sheppard location as their vintages section is enormous.

If you want to spend a little and try a nice Pinot Noir, give the '05 Patz & Hall a try, it's from the Monteray County region of CA and had it while staying at the Aviara Resort and Spa a few years back. A beautiful pinot man....expensive, but just absolutely delicious. The Vintages# is 38091

Much appreciated Rac. Thanks for forgetting about past transgressions so to speak also on my part. Well, maybe you didn't forget but..:$

$49 might be a little steep for me. Was it quite a bit cheaper in California? Ifind some are alot cheaper adn some are not in the US.

Was nice to see such a great turnout for the swap, even if people weren't "wheelin' n' dealin'" too much....

Nice job on the BBQ, good to see some old friends and make some new ones.

Now lets go tee it up!!!!!:D

I just wanted to thank eveyone who came out today. Despite the cool weather and the Masters, we had a great turn out, with a few transactions being made throughout the day.

Thank you Brad for going out of your way to pick up the Burgers and Hotdogs. Al (Trunkslammer) for bringing the amazing fresh sausages. Dan, and George on the Grill and of Course Alain (Toraider) for organizing the event.

I also have to send out a special thanks to Gawain (GBRgolf) from PGMC and Accra for not only supplying the door prizes, but also bringing in the mini keg of Heini.

Congrats to all the winners of the Accra Swag, and George, I still think you rigged the draw for that staff bag.

It was good to see many people there...

I do have some suggestions to make it bigger and better:

- Next time, pick a non-rainy days
- Have a food coordinator, so that we don't get too many duplicates - sausages
- Open to public (more potential buyers)
