firstly puring is not the same as spining.

but all steel shafts should be spined and oriented in the most stable and repeatable plane....most commonly refered as the Neutral plane and that to target

Not all graphite shafts need spining but regardless of the make ALL should be FLO'd ( pured is similar) using a laser to find the plane of flat line ossilation ( FLO) this is the plane that the shaft wobbles the least in

Okay what's better spining or puring a shaft?
Thanks

I am not intinmately familiar with the puring process other than that it is an expensive and computerized way of finding the most stable plane of a shaft.......so in this regard it is the same as FLO ( flat line Ossilation)

most definitely FLO takes precedence over aligning a shaft with the neutral bend point to target as determined by spining. However, alignment from spining is better than random alignment which you get from all store bought sets.

see my not in the puring/spining thread........spining is typically used to sort shafts, much as a scale is used to sort for weight and and a freq meter is used to sort for flex.......

if the clubmaker has nothing else I would still gain say that spining is better than nothing.
