Ok so heres my story, My good buddy Cob, who is a member on this site, his daughter who is 12 years old was talking to a friend who got a new computer or whatnot, anyhow to make a long story short she had gave this friend her e-mail address or whatnot so he could add her once he got his new computer working and whatnot.. So shortly their after she has a invite on MSN, that she has someone tring to add her, Her thinking it was her friend from before she add's him....... After a short while talking to this "new friend" she had noticed that its not the same person, so she asks who it is that she is talking to. The person wasn't long in saying he will send her a picture, turns out he turns on his webcam, and the poor 12 year old had to see a grown man fully revielved in the nude playing with himself.... Pretty damn gross.... Now comes the part where we need your help, we have reason to believe this person is from around where we live, as he has also done this to one of her little girlfriends.... I have the e-mail address of this person xo_wouter_xo@hotmail.com if ANYONE could help us out on finding out who this person is, or where he lived if they could please help us, it would be GREATLY appreacheated. You can e-mail me direct at slapnuts_99@hotmail.com or PM me, any help is good help thanks!

Could you give the email to the police?
Maybe they could track it back to an address.

Agree... contact the police and give them the e-mail address... they don't take sexual preditors lightly.

first thing I would do is contact the police. They will likely ask to scan the computer for any evidence (the picture, user name, msn conversation).
Next, block that user in MSN. It's a simple click, I'm sure (it's been awhile since I've used that program)

Honestly, call the cops. As satisfying as it would be figuring out who the guy is, the odds of doing so are pretty slim, the the odds are even slimmer that he's in the Clinton area. Pretty disturbing though, that's for sure.

Police may even want to use your computer to trap him and gather more evidence.
The Toronto Police do that sometimes to catch pedifiles, officers will pose as young girls and boys in chatrooms etc.

The way the judicial system works sometimes you would end up in jail and he would walk.
hopefully when he is caught the police would update you on the status.

The officer said that this could take months, so in the mean time how many more little girls are going to be able to view this pervert having his fun. As a concerned and pissed off parent you would never believe this could happen to your own daughter. So imagine if this happened to you what would you do . KICK HIS _____ A__.

Man....you wouldn't be able to do to him what will be done when he is in jail. The "bad boys" in prison don't like those kind of people and I am sure he will will be taught a few things about playin' with himself. However I can understand your feelings on this matter. I seriously don't envy how you went about explaining this to your daughter.

Jail is a perfect place for pedifiles, I'm sure a lot of guys in jail have little kids.

I know you're not going to like this, but the odds of you guys tracking him down are essentially nil.
This guy would have to essentially volunteer his name to you, as I'm sure he didn't register the MSN address under his real one. There's no way to trace somebody over the MSN network, unless you're the cops and can compell MSN to share the guys IP address. And then you'd have to find his ISP and get them to share the info with you - which they won't do without a warrant.
All in all, i can't even imagine how much this sucks. But the reality is the internet let's arseholes like this guy have a good chance of getting away, unless the police really get interested.

Owen, I feel your pain son. I've been through something similar years ago, but the difference was it was live and in living color on the street. My daughter was 11 at the time and we were in Texas. I think the "gentleman" is still healing. He was dumb enough to hang around the neighborhood for ½ hour and the neighbors found him.
I don't know if you'll ever be able to find him on your own without a lot of help from MSN and his ISP. That's a pretty fuzzy trail to follow without internal help from both sources. But if he is found and convicted, the guys in the big house will extract a little justice by proxy for your family. Guaranteed. One thing they don't "cotton to" is someone who targets children.

The only thing I could possibly suggest is google his email address and see if it's used to register other sites on the internet. You can only hope that he goofed up and used his real name or provided some personal details on another site.

Try contacting Perverted Justice (www.perverted-justice.com). It's an organization that has the resources to track guys like this.

It might take time, but the police are likely the only recourse you have. As somone suggested, you will need a warrant to get Microsoft to release the IP info on the username, and the ISP will want a warrant as well. Mind you, both will be helpfull I am sure due to the nature of the crime.
I have a 9mo old daughter and another daughter due in August. This story makes me sick to my stomach.

I saw a program a while back on this very issue. I don't think it would be a very good idea for you to do this (leave it to the police) but the cops were actually (under the guise of a young girl) entising these creeps to an address and "arresting" them there.

If your concerned, like we all are, about other little girls being exposed to this...or possibly worse, you could send out an email to all your friends and family warning them of exactly what happened.
In doing this, I would cc the email to him as well, making sure they/he knows that the police have been notified and has all the information they need to track him down. I would then request that all the parties that forward this email around to their friends and family ALSO cc their forwards to his email address.
If for nothing else, it will let the perv know that things have been done, the police are looking for him, and hopefully put the guy on notice so he doesnt bother anybody else.

This a great second move except the cc part. You should do nothing that tips him off. It gives him a head start to run and hide and may make finding him by the police more difficult. There have been lots of good suggestions. Reporting the incident to hotmail and reporting it to the OPP are also a suggestions.
Cob your a good dad and your reaction is like most fathers would have to something like this. I know I would want to hunt him down. Hopefully one of my friends would talk me out of it so that my name is not the next one the judge calls right after his.
Karma is a beautiful thing and these people get what's coming to them in the end. Trust me, emotionally I am on your side. But I'd rather have a shot at taking the TGN title away from the Clinton boys then to just be given it because the main guy is sitting in a 4 x 8 singing home home on the range.

I agree with everything you said here Bob, and its all great advise. Especially for the boys to not hunt him down....the justice system woudl probably give him a slap on the wrist, and you jail time for beating the living pulp out of a perv. Sure you would be doing society a favour....but the law works in some funny ways some times.
I thought about the fact that you would be tipping him off that the police were out looking for him....but I also thought how important this 'case' is to them right now. I mean, the guy, in essence, flashed a 12 year old girl, and trust me when I say I'm not making light of the situation. But I cant help to wonder how bad the police want to find him. The reason I suggested cc'ing him on every little email that went out was to let him know that the public know he is out there and arent going to tolerate it. The whole goal of this perv getting wind of the police and the public out looking for him would be, more or less, a scare tactic so he doesnt do it to anybody else.

I know what you mean Samick and there are two sides to that equation. You may be right in that it might stop him if he knows he's on the watch. I may be right in that it tips him off and he hides.
Most likely the professionals know the one that works better and maybe one works, depending on a certain criteria, better than the other.

Did you ever get an email from him? If so, you can look at the headers to get an ip address, which would give you his internet service provider.
The service provider will not give you contact information, but would provide it to the police.

It is a double edged sword - cc him so that he knows they're after him to try to get him to stop or tip him off to help him hide better. Aside from the pain that you're going through in dealing with what he did, knowing he's likely continuing to do it can not be very comforting - it makes me sick to my stomach knowing he did it to a friend's family.
However, I would think, JMO, that he would probably just create a new email address to continue AND have the added bonus of getting a thrill out of knowing that he's causing a disturbance to Cob and his entire family and friends.
There is no way of knowing how such a sick and preverted mind works and what drives them to do what they do.
Against my own personal agreement to hunt him down and teach him a lesson I think that it's best to let the police handle it and to keep on top of them for answers.
My heart goes out to you and your family Cob.

Unfortunately that is an outdated premise. The jails are so full of that kind of scum that Protective custody sections and even jails that are mostly dedicated to these types of people have been implemented. Although it would be good to have justice served to sexual deviants by the violent offenders serving time I don't think the government wants them all carried out in body bags.
trust me man, it can't be done. all i'm trying to do is save your energy.
The only way you could probably catch the guy is to set up a sting and lure him in. Not a goodidea though as something like that is best left to professionals. I don't know why they don't do that. Dateline ran a series of shows where they lured and had local police arrest a whole whack of people. But that blew up in their face and from what I heard everyone of them was let go and the charges were all dropped.
