I see there's a new Canadian playing this week's event named Andrew Parr who somehow got a sponsor exemption. Anybody heard of him?

He is the boyfriend of a member here.....Ashley.
He was trying a Q school last year and she put a post up about him, or should I say included his name in a post of all the Canadians who were trying Q school. There were a bunch of "who cares" comments made so she stopped posting.

Don't want to be a pain but as usual in this world, your really saying that someone disagreed with comments made or didn't say what they want wanted to hear about a topic so as usual took it personally. Freedom of speech doesn't exist anymore without someone taking it the wrong way or personally. No need for response just a statement.
We all support Canadians and give the best wishes to anyone who can do well. Pretty good job and hope he does well.

I didn't take anything personally, because the comments were not about me. However I do know others did.
Anyway, I did go back in the archives, and found the thread and it wasn't as harsh as I remembered, so I do appologize for being presumptious. However, I did exchange some p/m's with Ashley about it, and it did bother her. However she now lives far away from Toronto and has forgotten all about it by now.
You had just joined TGN at that point so maybe didn't see the post.
Don't shoot the messenger I guess is what I am trying to say.

I cheer for anything that represents Canada golf. I am a shameless flag waver.
I think I saw the posts by Ashley about Andrew Parr and did not notice anything to be remotely upset about.

Actually I did see the post back then I remembered because it was at the beginning or around when I joined and it kind of stuck out because of statements and issues were taken so seriously by Ashley and I didn't mean the reference in this statement was to you. I find most of your comments contributing and interesting even if I agree or not. Some people just go overboard. Life would be so boring if we all agreed all the time. That was just my point we don't have to agree but it's always nice to hear others thoughts too. You find today it more common as you can see in politics they can't even open their mouths without someone attacking them. Not that I want to discuss that again. Stay away from that. :hush: I thiought the post was light and fun and as said it was taken too seriously when its only others opinions which they have the right to have and sometimes they are just joking around, but only my point of view. No problem we try to keep it light and just state our own comments its up to others to interject and maybe even sometimes change your mind about issues.

When I marshalled last year at the Cdn Open, I remember him coming through on the practice days and he was impressive to watch. Big, tall kid who hit it a ton... We all commented that he might be the next young Canadian on tour, glad to hear he has started to make an impact

Seeing A.Parr shooting 80 at Houston made me rethink what a 10 hcp would shoot at the US open venue.Andrew was a top rank amateur for many years and very accomplished golfer and he shot 80.I guess a lot of PGA tour players shoot over 80 every week so maybe a 10 not being able to break 100 isn't that off.
