View Full Version : Temporary Ban from Ottawa Golf Forum
Golfing in Ottawa

Hey folks get this. I posted this article from the Ottawa Citizen and received a one week ban for "Trolling" from Ottawa Golf. Guess its ok for Ottawa's major paper to post......but is "too sensitive" to discuss on a golf forum. The following is the exact post I submitted, then received the ban..........
Emery goes up for sale; Murray admits he'd heard talk of partying (Ottawa Citizen)
http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/...4-88e0e8747024 (http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/sports/story.html?id=3b69b174-055b-4f85-b1f4-88e0e8747024)
My plan is not to have him back," said Murray.
Stories have circulated in Ottawa all season -- and have been around since last summer -- about a fondness for partying among at least some players.
Murray said he had heard about them.
He didn't specifically mention Emery's name, but made it clear that's who he was talking about.
"A couple of stories I was told," he said.
"Certainly, I think you know who it is. Beyond that, I don't know where that came from, what stories or who else is supposedly involved.
"As I say, I know the one individual that we've talked about a fair amount."
Murray said it was obviously a concern to the team, since the lifestyle choices a player makes are ultimately a reflection on the team.
From a financial standpoint, in a small market such as Ottawa, that is significant. A team can't give fans any reason to stay away. It doesn't need the brand to be tarnished.
"Yes, their lifestyle is a big part of it, and I've talked to the players about this on a regular basis," said Murray. "Your behaviour, your comments to the press, your comments about teammates, your attitude around the city, is a reflection on us.
"We want good people here, and that's what we're going to try to achieve this summer and going forward."

I think what the problem is that Ottawa Golf Forum do not want this subject even mentioned as other individuals on the thread insist on specifically mentioning "what the off ice issues might be" and those threads were quickly locked. I never made mention, only that there are "off ice" issues with certain individuals. Funny, I also made mention before the season started back in the beginning of September that the Sens need to address some of Emery's serious "off ice" issues. This was just after his road rage incident with the Senior Citizen. I was almost laughed off the Golf Forum from many who told me what did his off ice actions have to do with his goaltending.
Guess Sens Management is finally saying this in the article...........too bad after the season and damage done................

I'm not surprised by Emery's situation....I know a girl who went to high school with him and she told me he had a big head and a major 'tude way back when.
(Hope I don't get banned from the Ottawa Forum....trolling comes naturally to me. :hyper: )

Hope that does not happen on the Toronto Golf Forum site.......

What does Trolling mean?
Personally, I'd like to know when Trolling season is open so we can go hunt them...
Trollie, you're just a tad overly sensitive, I think...
Heh!

When I incurred my banning from TGN, and went "over there", I was cautioned about 'posting' things like that....and it partially was for reasons like that, that I made ammends to THIS site, and have only been back THERE once or twice! ;)

OG is probably protecting themselves from liberl suit should a few members there start speculating and others start taking them as facts.

IMO, it seems pretty harmless to post something you read in the paper, especially when it was pretty much verbatim. I really can't see any reason why one would be banned for posting something such a this....
Seems pretty trivial.

Ya....you gotta watch what you say. For example someone here could be banned if we were to say "Leafs Suck", so that is why no one ever says it!!

Worse, if they say Leafs sucks, the punishment is that their team would choke.
