Hey man, enjoy history in the making, Tiger is a phenom!! Trash talk all you want... I'm sure you'd be slammin' Jack if you were watching him in his prime too. Think about it ;)I doubt that very much. Jack had 10 times more personality than the cat does or ever will have. Jack took time to appreciate the fans during the week wherever he played by signing autographs and chatting it up with the fans whenever he could. I know this first hand, as I got an autograph from Jack on a visor with a handshake on the first tee at Glen Abbey in 1983. :D
Did you watch the telecast yeasterday after Mickelson hit over the trees and pulled it in like a yo yo???? Did you see the way he went through the crowd to get to the green? High and low fiving the fans with outstretched hands and smilling to the cheering fans. Watch closely next time, he INTERACTS with the crowd, he APPRECIATES that they paid big bucks to watch him and the worlds best play this great game. He signs autograph after autograph at EVERY SINGLE event. THAT is what it's all about.;)

No personality? Are you kidding, he's always smiling on the course... maybe because he's always winning... Why because he's more business than everyone else? I remember Jack being the same way...
Phil a personailty? The guys a slep... He has one guy that has the "fakest" smile on tour... so rehearsed - it's sicken-ing! How I see him smile... I just want to stick a BALL cleanup in his mouth.... I betcha his wife throws Phil on his back :D

Too funny to read. You dont have to know the man personaly to know he is ALL about HIS golf. I know better than to think the cat is probably a very nice guy in his own circle of freinds. You should re-read what I wrote. Jack is KNOWN for being a gentelman, as was Arnold before him, in person AND on the the golf course. The difference is that the cat is NOT the fan friendly kinda guy. Fan favorite maybe but not fan friendly. :nono:

buddy, personality is in the eye of the beholder. I like the way Tiger stares down his competition and is all business around the course. He probably wouldn't even talk to O'Meara that much if they were both in a Sunday final pairing. He is competitive, people who can understand that, can also appreciate that....for those who can't, then c'est la vie :nono:

Arnold interacted with his fans on the course for many hours before and after the round, and while he did it, he still won. Jack also did it that way and won. That's all. You CAN do BOTH.:D

I'd bet everyone was slammin' Jack when he started kicking Arnie's a$$. Arnie's army must have depised the guy for knocking the King off his throne. My point is, I'd bet similar discussions about Jack were going on back then. People loved him or hated him at one time or another. Fact is, Tiger is in same the category. When you're that good and in your prime, people will always find something to criticize. Seems like most people that dump on Tiger are more afraid of being label a bandwagoner than anything else. The guy's a class act. Get over it!

I think most tiger supporters are bandwagoners - will switch to the "next big thing" - personally i like the underdogs - (I am afterall a LEAFS fan)
I agree with the statements about tiger NOT being so fan friendly though. Although he may do a lot of charity work (can you say "tax breaks" on the 30+Mil he makes) and is very attentive to those attending (see the clinic he put on at Magna for those paying $10,000+ just to wipe his a** and tell him how great he is) - i don't think he has the connection with the people like ARNIE or JACK or GARY or CHI CHI.
Just my 2c

Not me boys nor any other non cat lover .......... just check the threads. We non cat-lovers (but lovers of the game) arent soooo cocky of our favorite golfers.:nono: :D
But that's what makes these forums fun.:D
So go on tell me and everyone, how the cat is going to come from behind and win this thing. I really am interested in the strategy for this major. I'm hoping to use some of this logic the next time I'm 15 shots of the pace.
