All,

I worked in Waterloo for a couple years and joined this golf league that was co-ed. I have since come back to the GTA to work, and I have been trying to find another co-ed (fun) league to join to no prevail.

I am not interested in playing on a women's only league,

Thanks,
M

Try Duffers Dream. THey play most of their events in the Hamilton/Brantford area. Mostly men in this league though. Other leagues to look at would mulligans tour.

Welcome to the bunch.

I just moved out to waterloo and am looking for something similar. What was the name of the one in this end of town?

Calberrt,

The league in Waterloo is called Waterloo Tech Golf League, they play out of Conestoga Golf Club every Monday night. I think it starts in May.

Here is the email link to the organizer.

Enjoy, you should definitely consider it, nice course, great clubhouse.

Hello all - here is my first post!

I recently moved into the GTA from the US for work reasons. I live in Woodbridge and I am currently on the hunt for a mens (or co-ed) golf league so that I can meet some new people and network (I am a very big golfer . . . used to play at University). I have spent hours mapping out the area and trying to find close public golf courses that have a league . . . I cannot leave work before 5:00pm . . . so it has to be sort of close . . .

My question is this. Based on my info above, does anyone know what public golf club would be close to me and have a league with decent participation (so that a single could get paired up easily and not feel like an idiot)??? Hunter's Glen was my first choice, until I noticed the CLOSED FOREVER posing on their website. Looks like Kleinburg doesn't even have one . . . (that was my second choice). I made a test run out to BraeBen during rush hour and that wasn't too bad . . . (25 mins off the 407) They are going to be organizing a mens league on Wed night this year I'm told. I would love to play a league at St. Andrews Valey (and might be able to make the drive) but I don't think they have any mens leagues! I guess a course called Westview may have a mens league every thursday night starting in July? Cardnial Golf Club in Kettleby also has a league I think.

If you know the area . . . (and obviously surrounding areas - willing to travel 30mins) please provide me some insight. Oh, and it can't be terribly pricy either :)

I play in the men's league at Cardinal, and its very relaxed. More of a reserved tee time every week instead of playing a competitive round, but do have special events throughout the season. I have played as a single many times, and never had a problem with it.

Rate is very good ($25 after 5pm) and they have two nights available for the league (Mon or Wed). I know the Wed is very popular, so you might want to call soon, if you are interested...

Thanks for the info about Cardinal . . . sounds like a very good option . . . I will have to call them soon. I was looking for a bit tougher course (I have a handicap of about 2) but I guess you I can't get everything (close, cheap, tough, and has a fun league).

Oh, correction . . . Westview is not having a league this year . . . at least . . . thats what they told me on the phone today.

Lastly, I've been told the drive up the 401 (from around the 407) is going to be unbearable. Can anyone confirm or provide their experence driving to Newmarket/Kettleby during rush hour (at night - around 5ish). How long would you estimate?

I assume you mean the 400 not the 401 (the 401 ain't taking you anywhere near Cardinal ;) ).

400 is going to be horrendous; depending on where you are in Woodbridge it might be worth heading up Weston or Highway 27 to Highway 9. My son did junior camps at Cardinal for a couple of years running, pick up was around 5 to 5:30, Bathurst was a good clear run most of the time.

Good luck.

Yah, 400 I mean. (I'm obviously new to the area if anyone didn't believe me already :) )

OK . . . nice . . . thanks for the tip . . . that was the main obstacle for considering Cardinal.

So . . . anyone considering Cardinal Men's League for this year (Monday or Wednesday), both are full. Apparently they completely filled up around the first week of April . . . WOW!!! Anyways, I guess my search continues . . . I still can't beleive how hard this has been . . . back home every public course has one on Wednesday night :(
