Looks like the new fas at work when killing some time has become the Sudoku puzzles from the Globe and Mail. One of the pro's here has got me hooked on these. They are great brain teasers and if you mess up, you have tostart all over, they are great. Anyone else on here do them as well?????

what is a sudoku puzzle?

(is this tgn community more of a

'sushi' crowd or a 'steak n' taters' crowd

IMO... from reading the posts, i get a sense it is the former.)

these are the number puzzels in the newspapers. You have to eliminate numbers in each cell and cannot duplicate it in each respective row or column. It is pretty fun to try to figure out.

For me, it's because I can eat sushi a few times a week, but a good steak maybe once a week.

As for the thread topic, never tried sudoku, sounds addictive though. Have you guys ever played touch screens at bars? I'm addicted to Photo Hunt and can play for hours!

My wife and I got hooked on the puzzles this summer. They are in the globe and mail and the star. The globe tends to be much harder in my opinion. Someone asked if anyone had done one in under 13 minutes. I did a couple in under thirteen ( one in seven minutes) but that is the exception. Most of the time I can blow half an hour or more and there were many times when i had to hand over the puzzle because i was stumped.
Apparently there are books out with puzzles now.

Just learned to play the game while on a plane ride. it's in the en route magazines, both people on either side of me were playing, so I started reading the rules and the guy beside me taught me. for the first time, I wished the plane ride was longer :help:

I do the one in the free Metro. Its usually very easy, I get it done in and around the 5 minute mark. I'm no genius, just have a good system and they make the puzzle more for a high handicapper level.
