So when you guys go out with your buddies what do you play for? I know my regular foursome on Saturday, we play two rounds one in the morning for lunch and another in the afternoon @ Pine knot in Dorchester... but now we will be playing for something else ;)

... here is the solid model I made
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/kingdoba/Random/fedexcupassembly.jpg

So far, I have fabricated the base and is looking great, I will take pictures when its complete.

The bowl will be stolen from the kitchen lol and the handles will also be fabricated at work.

The ball is the toughest part, not sure on what to use quite yet, in the model is a 6" ball I found from a child bowling set, you can see its a little large compared to the actual size but I really don’t know what to use, maybe some suggestions?

anyways, it will be painted chrome to replicate the real thing.

This is my buddies idea he actually works for Fedex so were just having a little fun.

We play a best ball, 2 teams of 2 and play per hole like skins with carries. First 6 holes are worth 1000 colones (about $2), second 6 are worth 2k, and the final 6 are 3k. Every putt longer than the flagstick for par that is made gets skins that are equivalent to the hole value, as well as sand saves and birdies. On par 3s we play for 'greenies', meaning that if you hit the green and par the hole you cash in skins there also and that carries to the next par 3 and so on if nobody cashes in. The final hole we allow an optional press up to what you are down thus far.

How long does a round take to play? Seems liek you spend a lot of time on accounting!

Rounds are pretty quick here (3-3.5 hours) as people here only really play in the morning so if you are out at like noon you won't see too many golfers. It is an interesting format nevertheless and a few dollars here and there start to add up.

We usually just play best ball match play style. We play for beers, pitchers, lunch, hot dogs, Dairy Queen, whatever we feel like that day.

I usually play for pride and come home empty handed... even when playing by myself.

I hear ya there. I dont really have a foursome of people I play with on a regular basis actually I tend to play a lot with just anyone the course puts me with.

Depending on who I'm playing with we either play Skins, Nassau or Hollywood. The Skins game has an automatic press if you're down 2. Nassau is usually $2 but sometimes $5 if we're playing near a payday, lol. The Hollywood bet is only 25 cents per stroke, but I've played it at a $1 a stroke also.

I play Valle Del Sol, as it is about 10 minutes from where I live, I play there about 4 times a week. I play Cariari about once a month or so, when I get invited as I'm not a member. I also play Los Suenos near Jaco a few times a month.

'Playing by yourself'...oh, you are funny.

If your team don't wanna play with you, you can always join the other team.

I'll never forget when my ex-boss, who I can't name (owns several race horses) told me when he plays with his buddy (radio personality I can't name), they play for a buck a yard.
