Hi,
I am interetsed in getting a job at a country club in the brampton area. I live near mavis and 407 therefore i can work at clubs in mississauga and brampton. I am turning 17 as of july and i have my g2 licence so i am qualified to drive golf carts. I am a very trust worthy and responsible person. I am the president of my schools badminton club and have many interests in sports. I'm new to the game of golf but i believe that working at a golf club may provide me with an opportunity to learn more about the game while gaining valuable work experience.
I have a resume that I will provide clubs when I apply for a Job.
Please inform me if there are any opportunites that may arise.
Thanks

You might get lucky, but likelihood is nogo, not because of age, but because all golf courses do an employment drive in the winter in prep for spring. Even before the courses open to public there is a ton of work and prep to be done, so they want that all in place well before.
Good luck though!

Since you are under 18, you can't really drive a beverage cart.
And base on what you have written, you seem to be very articulate and represent yourself well.
By all means show up at Lionhead and apply in person. Given the size of their operations, they might need some summer help. If not full time, perhaps part time. Don't just stop at Lionhead, try other area golf clubs as well.
Good luck in your job search.

Bellyhungry: I have a quick question for you. I was wondering if I go to apply in person what should I wear. I know this may seem like an obvious question but I am confused. I would like to make a good impression, therefore do I dress in a dress pant and a dress shirt, in golf attire or in "regular clothes". I want to make sure i present my self well.
Thanks

For sure dress pant and dress shirt - a tie wouldn't hurt either. I'd pick up the phone and call the courses to see if they are hiring and try to make an appointment to go speak with them. Good Luck!

Just follow the business casual dress code, that would be fine. On top of that, I would recomend wearing golf clothes that can be double as business casual - e.g a golf top (with minimal logo) paired with a pair of dress pants.
Calling the courses ahead of time and make an appointment with the head pro as suggested by Pingnut also help.
Cheers.

Clean shoes, NOT running shoes...remember you are "selling" your image! :)

I would look at any course that has a driving range or back shop. I was 12 when I started working at Credit Valley. ( I also Caddied for Iggy Kaneff at that age as well) Kitchen work although not as glamorous as front of the house may be an option.

As for appearance, you're never wrong to wear a shirt and tie. It may seem overzealous, but you'll never look like a slob!

Tie not necessary at Lionhead. Drop in causally dressed in golf attire, and I’m sure you will get a warm welcome. They are always looking for help at Lionhead, lots of opportunities in numerous fields.
