Myself and another TGNer are playing in a tournament July 7 at Brampton GC. We've never played the course and would really like to play a practice round.
Are there any members of the course that would be interested in having us as their guest either this month or next? We don't have any reciprocal privileges to offer in return as we're not members of a private club but could anti-up some balls or something.
Thx.

Sorry guys,
I left Brampton after 20 years for Clublink at the end of last year.
In case you don't get a chance to play before the tourney, here are a few pointers you can print out and take with you.
Hole #1 -- Take 2 extra clubs on your approach and swing smooth. The green is elevated about 35 yards up from fairway. It plays about 1.5 clubs more than normal. The green is huge. (They are huge in general. That said, the middle of the green is a good place to be on almost every hole)
Hole #2 -- Par 5, Unless you crush your drive and can hit an iron in, lay up to a good yardage. It's not worth it. Water left of green, O.B. right. (Don't lay up too close, water starts about 80 yards from green).
Hole #4 and #5 -- Two of the three hardest holes on the course (18 is the other). Both holes are long par 4's. A good drive is key on these holes. Grip it and rip it.
Hole #6 -- Short par 4, shouldn't cause any trouble but frequently does. Water on right all the way to hole. If you fight a slice at all then hit a long iron or hybrid off the tee. You don't need to be long off the tee.
-- Halfway House -- If Ashley is there, you are lucky:D
Hole #8 -- Birdie hole. Hit a fade just left off giant willow and you'll be perfect. Or... bomb it straight over the willow. Water right of green.
Hole #9 -- Par 5, If you hit your drive over the swail in fairway, go for the green! If not, lay up to your yardage. Giant green, probably 40 yards from front to back.
Hole #10 -- Straight drive is key -- trouble left and right (Trees, trees and more trees) Stay under the hole if the pins on the left, downhill putt from back left of green ... impossible.
Hole #12 -- Water on right off tee, pond is reachable with Driver and 3 wood. If you're driving it well then don't even think about water, smack down the middle and make your bird. If you're not driving it well hit somethiing about 200 yards and take your chances with a longer approach.
Hole #13 -- Par 3 over water. Be long not short ... duh!
Hole #14 -- Generally a 3 shot par 5, if there is any wind in your face completely forget about reaching in 2.
Hole #15 -- O.B. right, green blocked from left. Hit it straight.
Hole #16 -- Signature hole -- Par 3, waaaayyyy downhill. Plays about two clubs less if there is no wind. Be sure to check the wind because it's a long way down. Left is a much better miss than right (water).
Hole #17 -- Par 5, If you're a big hitter then go ahead and try and go over the creek. In my experience though it is not worth it considering the risk/reward. With a good layup you can still try and reach from behind the creek with a wood. Extremely tough green, false front, lots of break. You may need to play 20 feet of break on this green. *** It seems like a birdie hole but it can also be a disaster, proceed with caution.
Hole #18 -- Tough finishing hole, par 4, dogleg left. If you miss your drive right you have a loooong way in. If you miss left you are down the valley (30 yards down). Take a semi agressive line and be happy with anything between 170 - 140 yards away from green. If miss your drive and have more than 190 in to the green, you might want to hit a short iron that will land short of the green and then take your chances getting up and down. Because if you pull your approach down the valley, you're looking at a double ( I threw away a match on the final hole here last year ... it still hurts to think about it :()
My low round there is 73, go for it.
That's all I got, hope it helps,
Jmac

Hi Jon
Miss you there this year, mind you, now that Hamilton is going to run away with the F1 title we have nothing to talk about :)

I'm heading to Montreal Thursday for the race. Hamilton is a stud, did you see him on Top Gear? Pretty impressive!
But we both know the world champion will be wearing red again this year:D
