do you keep tabs on your golf expenditures? Like everything in life it has to be budgetted in...
- green fees or membership dues
- range balls
- travel expense (gas isn't cheap)
- clothing (dri-fit isn't cheap)
- balls
- clubs (average of 2-3 year turn over)
- food/snacks
- shoes (rotation of 2 pairs)
- pull carts/power carts/stand bags
- tees (average 3-18 a round)
- sunscreen
- hats
- instructions (lessons and teaching tools)

:shhh:
Are you kidding ???
Who would like to have such evidence available.....?
I keep my "golf" money on a separate account that nobody but me knows about.
If someone ever ask
None of my clubs cost more that $50.00
All my green fees are about $25.00
I never loose balls, and play with some I find in the course
I don't have "any" beer ar the course

yes, please explain, I've checked many times with our company book keeper...no guest fees, no membership dues, no tournaments...JUST the FOOD costs
wish golf courses charged $100 dollars for dinner and threw in a free round of golf.

I definitely keep tabs on how many games I play during the week/month and how much they are. With my wife being in school full time, definitely cuts down on my golfing fund heheh.

One of the reasons Wooden Sticks INCLUDES breakfast/lunch or lunch/dinner is so corporations (the ones who usually end up playing there) can expense it on customer ent.
Another is to work for a U.S based company (rules aren't as tight) and expense it on your monthly account. You must be paid in U.S $ and be a U.S citizen or have a green card even though you may do a lot of business outside of the U.S.
I believe there are also other ways to expense a membership (corporate) in Canada (you might have to declare it a taxable benefit).

My budget is on a need to know basis. I don't need/want to know how much its costing me
Whatever it is, it's worth every penny.

Thanks...I'll ask the accountant again...but it doesn't look as good as your situation.

I had a Golf Fund at the beginning of the year but usually fully redeemed by the third week of May :( . But I do keep track of direct golf expense (green fee, clubs, range, golf balls, lessons, apparels, misc stuff). I replace spikes quite often so I will add the expense here too ... immaterial though compare to clubs and green fee. I also add $ earned in trading golf clubs into the big picture too. What about golf magazine subscription? Also, I will take away food/snack in this category as I have to eat/drink anyway even if I am not golfing, only that the price at the golf course is higher than elsewhere. So to do it properly you can add the differentials here ... could be material depends on how many you eat/drink.

Umm, no. Can't budget for this stuff, because then there would be a limit on what I spend ;).

No, no...and definitely no! I recently was looking at my handicap tracking page and scrolled down to see scores and was shocked at how many rounds I have actually played.
I really don't want to know.

I love the humour here but I gotta tell you I never thought any kind of membership or yearly play package (like Prestige Player Club) made any sense unit I actually looked at how much I spent annually.
I actually will save money over the long term with memberships or annual play packages.
When you look closely at it, it makes more sense. Even Pheasnt Run or Deer Creek annual memberships make alot of sense.
Good luck.
