We are all involved in a game that's both exciting and frustrating. But do we really step back and think just how much we love this game?
Over our golfing career, we literally spend thousands of $$ on equipment, clothes, shoes, lessons, etc. There are some who could clear up a mortgage with the amount of money they spend on golf in their lifetime.
And what about the time spent pursuing this game. 4-6 hours to play a round (in some cases daily), anywhere from 1-3 hours on the range 2-4 times per week, travelling from home to different courses up to 1.5 hours away. Is this time that could be better spent on family or job? Maybe. No, probably.
But this is a game that we love. Almost an obsession. In some cases or under some circumstances, a religion. We spend weekends (when not on the course) watching the pros on tv. We have libraries of books, DVD's and videos of golf lessons. We watch the ladies and guys on Big Break in the evenings. And then there's TGN, something that's been suggested as a cult!
Yes, this is a game that we love. We love to play it, we love to hate it, we love to spend $ on it, we love to talk about it. We love to study it. We love to argue about it. Dammit, we love this game.
