I enjoy a beer on the course and in the club room after golf. I enjoy beer everywhere, actually.

I seem to play better after having one. Too often, I'm too anxious even after 4 or 5 holes. However, three beers, even comsumed evenly throughout the duration of a round, make my game sloppy.

I've heard some lament the arrival of the beverage cart on the second hole, but I'm just can't resist a pretty face (or an egg salad sandwich.)

no,we save it all for after because:
a-the beer cart seems to sniff out wherever you are every 15 minutes
b-it slows down the game
c-everybody in our group would feel obliged to pick up one round
d-the youngsters always lose their concentration oggling the goods

I only imbibe during charity scrambles. I don't consider that golf. It's more of a social event.
