I suggest that if Golf Courses have a "Cartpath ONLY Rule", that you be allowed to take YOUR OWN CAR, as long as it fits on path
(most do!)

...just imagine...you're running late...drive up to the 1st tee...and your off....when you're done, just keep on driving!

p.s. if it rains, you have doors,
if it's hot you have a/c, if it's cold you have heat!

How cool/fun is that!??:D

oh, wait a minute, courses will claim some sort of "excessive pollution" story (i.e., they won't be making MORE MONEY!!)
...just like the NO DRINKING WATER on courses in Ontario, for "health reasons" (i.e., so they can MAKE MONEY SELLING BEVERAGES!!!)

Funny how you can get drinking water on courses in the US!?

Hell yeah. If you have a Neighborhood vehicle like this:

It would mak perfect sense. You pack you golf bag in your NV, drive right onto the course and then drive right back home when you're done.

Gemcar also has these models:

That red one is PIMP.

The blue one needs a longer wheel base and a spoiler.

The blue one is about the same size as a regular golf cart. Remove the box in the rear and put some kind of golf bag mounting system (straps) and you've got a street legal golf cart. Cool!

I drove one of them in Cozumel last year, they look cool, but are really slow and the battery only last about 40Km

Cart path only rule is in use to save the course from damage when it is very wet. Some courses take it too far at times yes, but it is there as protection. Ever try to hit a ball out of a tire track? worse than hittin one out of a shoe print in a bunker.

As for the water on course, it is not a money issue, it is a health issue. Not sure if you have heard about the 70 people and the 3 that dies in arizona a few years back. They drank contaminated water form one of the courses. I also have a friend who contacted Beaver fever from dirinking water on course up in Northern Ontario. He was sick for 3 months and lost 70 pounds.

This no water on course is to save the clubs from possible law suits and was recomended and put in place by the NGCOA.

Just though I would clear the air on this a little.

Got a bad case of this my first day in high school and have had it ever since. If it were to flare up at this time, my wife would indeed kill me  .

if the cartpath rule of the day is 'cartpath only', i'd rather walk.
but sometimes, the chick behind the counter at the pro shop can't tell doesn't know and can't tell you the cartpath rule du jour. then you pay for the cart and the starter tells u, "it's cart path only today, gents." :(

but i completely understand that need for this sometimes depending on how soggy the ground is. please, just tell me ahead of time before i pay for the powercart.

are there any courses that have a permanent 'cart path only' policy?

I love the cart path only rule on courses without cart paths ;)
