Playing this coming Monday. Money is not really a concern since we'll be using the Golf Access book.

Anybody got any opinions on the course itself?

Also, is it walkable or do we need to cart?

Thanks

A couple of holes are up and down, but nothing major. I've walked it tons of times. I think it's a really nice course that's in great shape right now (played last weekend). #16 is a tough par 4 (you'll see why). All putts break away from the escarpment regardless of what your brain tells you.

This course is in my regular rotation of 241 play only. The course is decent but I personally don't really like it so I only play a few times a year. Long rounds the last 2 times out won't have me rushing back anytime soon but on a monday you should be fine.

I have never seen this course in really bad shape but I haven't been there in 4 months and every thing else is in bad shape in the area so don't be suprised if it is too. I have only every walked there and never compained expect for # 6. There are however some very difficult if not stupid holes on this course which is the main reason I'm not a huge fan but I'll go through them anyways. Most people either love or hate this course so I'll do what I can to ease the pain.

1 - Shortish par 5 should be reachable in two for most decent players. I stay on the right side and get it in 2 every time or in the vacinity of the green.
2- The water is reachable for long hitters so plan accordingly. over the water to the green always plays long for some reason and best to drive to the right side to avoid OB and trees on the left.
3 - probably my most hated hole i have every played. dogleg left with water right, short, and long of the landing area. water infront, ob left and bunkers at the green. I hate this hole.
4 - par 3 you have to hit the green or be long or left. right ob, short leaves terrible up hill chip.
5- drivable but not recommended. ob on the right, blind into green from elevated fairway. dangerous hole with hidden water infront of the green.
6 - par 5 up hill, up hill and some more up hill. plays very long and the only time you will wish you had a cart.
7 - long downhill par 3 with water on the right that the wind sends your ball too.
8 - keeping your ball on the fairway is more important than distance.
9 - stupid hole that has ruined many a round. hit a long iron out with nothing fancy.
10 - normal par 4, right side is better
11 - most people can get away with an iron and stay left. anywhere but on or infront of this green is toast.
12 - iron of the tee and in the middle
13- not to hard a par 3
14 - up hit par 4. long hitters can carry the right corner but fail and you'll be in trouble
15 - dogleg par 5 reachable in two. left side is best if you can get it past the dogleg or you'll have to pitch it past wasting a shot.
16 - probably the worst golf hole I have ever scene. almost no tee shot will leave with a shot at the green unless its perfect to the end of the fairway on the right.
17 - par 3 nothing much
18 - par 4 uphill and into the wind.

let us know what you thought.

We play it at least twice a year...We Like It...but as a previous poster said, ONLY WITH the 2-for-1 coupon (Greensfee Passport)

Gotta Love a course that starts with an easy par 5...gets your day off to a Great Start!

Agree that #3 is a much-hated hole, but really enjoy #5, tho' I've never thought of it as "driveable", you certainly want to be far enough up thae fairway to see the green!

#6 uphill, but still very birdie-able, #7 downhill, but watch that wind, #9 I love, my buddy hates...he says there's a magnet on the left (into the trees)

#10 is dull, #11 is fun (try a 2nd ball, betcha can't get it on!), #12 is nice...narrow off the tee, distance control!

Never done well on #14, #15--2 big hits, and another chance at eagle!

#16 is another tight/distance control hole, with an impossible green.

Overall, I really enjoy this course, there are many HUGE greens #1-#4, #7-#9, #12-#15, #17
