Anyone tried golfing today? Never seen floods like this in Toronto. I live in a condo and they just announced that our 2nd Basement Locker room is flooded. An hour ago it was pitch black and hailing. I see cars driving with water covering their entire tires, and I keep hearing sirens every five minutes.

I wanted my bf to get rained on for ditching me for golf, but I didn't mean to be THAT vengeful. :$

Have you called him yet ? I am more concerned about the course condition ... hopefully it will all dry up by the time I join him tomorrow.:rofl:

Make use of our weather button! Only grey skies for Belleville today and tomorrow. However, it will rain tonight. I should have pointed my wrath east earlier.

I played today at Pheasant Run, had a little bit of rain but not too bad. Got 17 1/2 holes in before lightening in the area and we had to get off of the course. It took me about 25 minutes to get there and nearly 2 and a half hours to get home... Driving was brutal. Of course I had to laugh at the cars that tried to get through water that was half way up the car door....Hello!!??? You're not going to make it!

And the basement flooded of my parents house.....oh and the pool overflowed.....and the drains clogged at the bottom of the street so the street flooded.

People who are driving be very careful of the sewer drains on the streets. I saw 3 that had sunk at least a foot below street level. At least around here people had marked them......

Here at Copetown Woods yesterday we got over 2 inches of rain in 45 minutes...it was crazy!! We had some nasty flooding over a couple fairways, and we have some of the best drainage I have seen on any golf course anywhere.

This morning I came in to no standing water at all, but our 9th fairway has a 30 square yard area covered in mud from a field next door, and all the bunkers washed out really bad. Needless to say, we're getting our money's worth out of the maintenance boys this morning.

Everything else is fine, and it drained well enough to not have to worry about carts being driven on the fairways.

Thanks god it's over. The only time I have seen rain like that was last year in June when we got almost 4 inches in 2 hours. Lots of damage after that on.
Have a great weekend!

Golf superintendants hate that type of downpour...too much too soon, doesn't have the same impact. They like the 24 hour drizzles, allows the greens to soak it up...

I had to go from Richmond Hill to downtown Toronto last night - what a joke. DVP closed, Bayview Extension closed...turned a 30 minute drive into 90 minutes very quickly! Toronto is a stupid city to get into if coming from the north...

Does anybody know if the TTC/subway lines got impacted at all?

weather was fine in belleville, but wasn't fun on the car ride home sat night...focker singh and i didn't have reception on telus or rogers gsm, so once we picked up signal on the way home we got like 15 minutes worth of voicemail and a dozen text messages to go through....appraently, both focker singh and my house's basement was flooded! argh! been cleaning up since, and my internet has been up and down! grrr!

I had an afternoon round in Milton pencilled in for Friday afternoon, but we cancelled as soon as those scary clouds and the plethora of tornado warnings started rolling in.

"I want to live, man." :)

As Mok mentioned my basement got flooded with 2 feet of water. Lots of damage and tons of headaches. Washer, central air, water heater, furnace all need to be replaced. Not to mention the couch, tables, chairs and floor! Insurance better cover this!!! :(
