Other than #1 and #18 this course is just average. I could play 18 over and over....but the rest of course just doesnt do it for me....

Any opinions?

I think it's pretty good. #6 and 11 are very good par 3's. Several other holes allow you to choose a line off the tee, it gives you options. I think that makes a course interesting. #5 for example allows you to hit driver close to the corner or play safe with a iron to the end of the fairway. I like it, and for $53.00 in the afternoon, I think it's a great deal. I don't think #1 is a great starting hole, but I like 18 as well.
Condition are always good and pace of play is usually under 4.5. All good.
Pud.

I've always thought Woodington to be one of the best courses in the area...tad pricy given their location, but supply/demand wins I guess. I like their "Before 9AM" $60 to walk...

Toughest staring hole in the GTA (loose definition of GTA), and from there you are using every club in your bag. Traditionally in good shape, and with a breeze, big impact on shots.

Combination of some target golf with the ability to spray it from time to time...love the finishing stretch of 15-18...tough tee shot on 15, the par 3 16th is deceptive, reachable 17th par 5, and of course the finish. Now - I think the finishing holes was tricked up a little bit, but a good drive will get you to 125 in.

Great clubhouse/amenities...move this track south of King Road and you are paying $100+/round easy...

I do not know how they are going to get enough $$$$ for the 2nd 18 they are putting in though!!

Their fall rate is $77.25. I will be playing there in a couple of weeks, but not sure if other stuff they advertised in their website (bag tag, yardage book, etc) will be included.

This thread reminded me of a funny experience on hole #10. You know how the green on #10 is on the end of a plateau that drops off about 45 feet left, right and behind the green. My buddy pulled his approach shot left and down the hill - flies his next one over the green and down the hill to the right - then again to the left - then again to the right - then one more time to the left - he finally makes it on, putts out, walks down the hill to his cart and snaps his sandwedge in half over his knee and sticks both ends of the broken shaft into the ground like he was stabbing a mythical beast. I havn't laughed that hard since.

I seen similar things happen on that hole...miss the green and your ^$*^$*$.

Also the 11th is tough, if you miss it left in the trap....downhill bunker shot...if it comes out clean your back down another hill.....

Definitely not one of the friendliest courses in the GTA..... :( I've always thought Woodington to be one of the best courses in the area...tad pricy given their location, but supply/demand wins I guess. I like their "Before 9AM" $60 to walk...

Played there a month ago in a tournament and i must say the course was in excellent condition and just as challanging and unique as any of the other top courses in the GTA. I've played almost all of Clublinks top courses as well as Abby this year and i wouldn't hesitate a bit to go back and play woodington.
The club house was great and it's staff were very friendly and courtious and the marshalls were the best i've came accross anywhere. I would certainly rate this course a 9.5/10 anytime.
I read the comment about "not being one of the friendliest in the GTA" and it makes me wonder why you would say that or what it was referring too exactly. If it's referring to the fact the course has some tough holes on it then i would take that as a challange to try to improve my game. Not all of us including myself can shoot a great score everytime and i've seen 8's on my score card that i would rather not of wanted but i use that improve my game so next time i will not let the hole beat me but i will beat it. Without challange and the need to improve this great game of golf would be rather boring. I think every course has some great holes and challanges aswell as some rather easy ones but at the end of the day you consider all of it together and for the most part there are some really great courses available for us to enjoy. Just my 2 cents.

Just as #1 and #18 are two of the top holes in the GTA, Hole #14 is an absolute bust. I play this course every year and so far the lower tier of the double fairways is always wet/soggy due because it is pratically the lowest point of the surrounding.

I really think they need to either build a giant fan (like #10 in Glen Abbey) or redesign the hole.
