Reporter: Who do you think will win game five of the Stanley Cup final?
Woods: "I dont really care. I don't think anyone watches hockey anymore"
I heard this on the fan driving home from work and thought it was pretty funny. Just another indicator that hockey will never make it big in the US. Hopefully Gary B and the owners listen up and bring another team or two to Canada.

Hockey season is way too long. It gets boring when I get to go golfing. Hahaha.

Tiger needs to work on his humour. I saw the clip on City earlier tonight and figured he was probably joking -- but it was tough to tell. Gord Martineau laid into him a little bit over it -- he thought Tiger was serious. Kathryn Humphries thought Tiger was joking.
I can't imagine Tiger would say something like that if he was being serious ... His delivery needs work. Someone should take him to Yuk Yuk's.

1. I don't really care too much about most sports. I watch the playoffs if I watch any at all.
2. Stats show that the canadian franchises provide the lions share of the league gate revenues so there is a lot of support for having more teams in Canada. It's time to give that guy from RIM his own team. He's got the desire and the money and he's got the good arena all lined up.

I think any sport that has four rounds of 7-game playoffs goes on way too long. Unless I've got a rooting interest in a team, I lose interest in hockey and basketball after two rounds, and am just checking scores after that. Baseball isn't quite as bad, since it's three rounds and the first round is 5 games, but I never had a problem with the days of two rounds of playoffs. Kinda miss those days, actually.

While I agree with you - generally - you'd be amazed at the number of hockey fans down here in Arizona... there are junior leagues all over the place, roller hockey leagues, mens' leagues like they're going out of style... really quite surprising.

No matter how many shots they pummeled at fleury he put on a display by a goalie unlike any other I have ever witnessed.
Throughout the game the red wings just looked so much more organized, put I believe over twice the shots on net as pitts but wow!
Fleury is just unbelievable.
For those of you who missed the game or did not stay up, you missed big time. Read the papers and watch the game summary and all you will hear about is the stand on your head performance.

Why do Canadians care so much what Americans think about hockey? I don't think Americans would lose any sleep if Ernie Els dissed Baseball or Football.
Hockey's a our winter sport. Canadians like it alot. End of story.
However, I do wish they stopped playing it at the Victoria Day Weekend but that's another topic. The season's too darn long!

I also agree the season is to long. It should start earlier and end earlier. The GTHL starts by 3rd week of September, and the NHL starts 2-3 weeks later than that? Hockey is a hard enough sell in the states as it is, and having games in June especially down south is not advantageous to creating interest. By June Americans are more interested in baseball and upcoming football season.

Canada has two seasons: Hockey and Golf. The overlap should be minimal!
