Is there such a thing as scoring an ugly round with a great score? Here are some of the highlights of todays round on the parkview valley course:

On the par 5 7th, sliced my drive around the tower (just in bounds) was able to 3I, chip then tap in for birdie.

On the drivable par 4 10th, faded the drive around the tower only to hit a wire and land in the bunker hit the 85 yard SW to 2 feet.

On the par 5 13th, smoked the drive, hit the 7I to a few feet right of the green, Bladed the chip over the green putted to within a foot for a par.

and the killer:
On the drivable par 4 15th, hit the top of the bunker and rolled back just inside the lip. I had 60 yards, but a bunker lip right in front of my ball. I opened up my LW and swung with the wristiest swing I knew how. Flew the green and landed the ball on the railroad tracks bridge 80 above the green. It bounced around for about 15 seconds then dropped. I wedged to the center of the green and two putted for bogey.

I don't think I've hit a worse serise of shots but faired so well. The golf gods were with me today.

BTW the greens are in great shape: faster than one would expect. They've finished the new tee box for the blues on 3 which makes it a much more interesting hole. Still some goofy holes and absurdly sloped greens but for $48 in the city I can't really complain.

Attaboy Charles!

I've had some rounds like that also. A few weeks ago hit a tee shot into a pond on a short par 4, hit my third to 4 feet, easy par putt....:help: Next hole is a tough one, long carry over gunk, trees line the landing area, hit my shot over the crap, fading into the trees, hear the knock against a tree and watch a ball roll into the middle of a fairway...:hush:

2 holes later, another short par 4, hit 3 wood off the tee, just sitting on the lip of a greenside bunker, chip over the trap to land across the green, had to be at least 45 feet to the pin, triple breaker... had good pace on the putt, hello birdie...

At this point the guys I was playing with started asking me if the horseshoes were clanging when I was walking....or hurt when they were inserted....

Golf can be fun, it's also a four letter word.

If "passed" any more horse shoes I'd need prolapse surgery.

LOL :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I just wish I had more rounds when the horseshoes were present than what I'm currently seeing..... :help:

It's called whipped cream on $h1T or words to that effect.

Been there done that.

Whats worse? The opposite. You go out and hit the ball like a tour star but can't seem to get up and down when ever you miss a green. So you hit 14 GIR but shoot 80 because you missed 4 GIR and never got up and down, plus you managed to putt like poop and 3 jerk 4 greens.

Ya gotta take the good with the bad in this game, brother.

 is all I can say about that.

Perhaps I misread the part about hitting the wire on 10. I used to think you could play it as it lies or re-hit (your choice), but according to the scorecard you HAVE to re-hit.

I played with a guy once who hit 7, count 'em, seven wires in one round.

I've hit 4 in one round there before. Yesterday it wasn't obvious off the tee box whether I'd hit the wire. I thought I may have heard a sound but none of us were sure. Equity was play it as it lies. It wasn't til I got to the green that I saw the scuff marks on the ball.
