Excluding all the miss hit balls, how much stuff have you dropped and lost while playing a game? Just today i lost my breakfast bagel, a new, unopened bottle of Gatorade, and my hat...my 2nd bloody hat I dropped and lost in the past week. Man i'm such a cluts. Last month I dropped my 8I, but got it back 3 holes later. 3 years ago I bought a new putter, and dropped the cover 3 weeks later. Let's hear your stories...make me feel a bit better :D ;) :p

Lost (2) bottles of Gatorade at Whistling Straits last Sunday, and they charged me $8 (US$) to replace them! Ouch/Gouge!:(

I lost my Westwood Plateau green fixer thingy that has a magnetic marker on it....

:'( it was in my jacket pocket, and i guess it fell when i took off my jacket and didn't realize it

:'(

Good thing was that I didn't buy it, i found it when I went golfing at Westwood Plateau :P
but still! it was so nice and pretty :(

Let's hear your stories...make me feel a bit better :D ;) :pTowels. Not club towels, but ones I bring for me. It drives my wife nuts. She now has a pile that I can take to the course. I did lose a putter cover at Kanata Links, in Ottawa this year, but got it back, in the mail, a week later.

i'm a klutz.

twice this year i left my pitching wedge on a green. it is so easy to forget it when you bring the pw and putter out ... chip from the fringe and then 3-putt! by the time you finish you're 3rd putt, you're disgusted and head straight to the powercart to put that bad hole behind you.
luckily in one instance the next group brought it up to me and in the other case i booted back to the previous hole and found it in the fringe where i'd left it. crazy!

oh, and i also lost a brand new glove somewhere between the driving range at Angus Glen and the place where all the power carts are staged at the start of a charrity tourney. i hit some balls to warm up at the range, took my glove off and put it in my pocket, headed to my power cart to meet my posse and listen to the Angus Glen guy do a speech before the shotgun start, while listening to the loooong speech wrap-up, i reach for my glove and couldn't find it in any of my pockets .... never did find it and had to play that event 'naked'.

I've lost a headcover before, but it was a crappy one anyways. I also lost my MX-23 PW last year. That one really ticked me off as it cost me almost $150 to replace it.

If I bring other clubs to the green, I try to make a habit of placing the clubs on top to the flag stick after we take it out of the hole. When someone in your group picks up the flag, they'll grab your clubs in case you storm off the green after those 3 putts.:) .

No, but I find it hard to believe that all of these "Newbie" posters have so many different clubs for sale all the time!

I don't think that is a good enough reason to accuse people of selling hot merchandise.

one way to prevent this is to put your wedge on the flag stick that way you'll probably always notice your wedge when leaving the green :D

knock on wood, I haven't lost a club yet. I almost lost my putter this weekend when I walked away from a hole in frustration. Better to walk away than make it worse. But I forgot the putter on the ground and had to job a long par 4 back to get it.

I've dropped this one loose headcover on several golfing occasions before, each time the group behind mine picked it up, but finally one time no one picked it up haha..oh well...

Anyone who plays behind me usually will have a full set by the end:rofl:

Lost my glove once. Took it off to putt, put it in my back pocket and finishd the hole. Got to the next hole and couldn't find it anymore. I went back to the previous green and couldn't find it either. I guess I lost it during the walk to the next green.

Almost lost my sandwedge once but I turned back and got it before the next group got to the hole.

Lost 1 putter cover, and nearly lost a putter this year. In frustration after missing two short putts, went to my bag to grab the back-up putter and left the other on the fringe. Realized I was missing it just as I got to the next tee.

I've only been playing for about 3 months now. So I take it that losing stuff on the course is a usual occurence? Even for the seasoned players?

haven't lost anything yet, but another suggestion is to place the clubs where you know you'll walk past to get back to your golf bag or to the next hole

A tip for those who bring clubs on to the green always leave them beside the pin when it is taken out.

I've lost a PW beside the green. Ever since then I always put my clubs either on the pulled flag stick or in a direct path from the hole to my clubs.

Lost so far this year..

About 4 dozen balls
One head cover
Two $20 bills that fell out of my pocket
And about 10 yards of length. Either I'm getting old or it's time to replace the irons.. :(

But I did find this sweet brand new Titleist 56* sand wedge at Glen Abbey.
It's been working like a charm too.
