Hello everyone, welcome to the forum. Please take the time and introduce yourself. Post anything about yourself and let us know how you found this forum!

Hi, would like to welcome everyone to this new forum (or online community)...just want introduce myself and maybe get to know a few of you here...

I'm 23 and this is my first year playing golf, my score is quite high at the moment, but hopefully with practice in the domes during the winter I will improve. Currently I'm a student at UofT and besides golf I enjoy playing volleyball.

What up, everyone? My name's James. I'm from Scarborough. I just registered and wanted to introduce myself to everyone on the site. I've been playing golf for about three years now. I play golf video games, too. I still have a lot to learn about the game. I'm sure I'll learn a lot about it on the site.

Have a good one.

Just found this site. I hope it can help me. I'm a bit obsessed with golf. This year during Ontario's active season I played 277 rounds of golf. Does anyone on this site know of another person this hooked? I would like to find out if I set any kind of record.

oh one more thing... if anyone puts together a "meet" maybe you can implement this for the ppl playing & have various prizes... would make it more interesting... i used this in one of my tournaments & had people put in $10 in a pot... so I had 120 ppl attend so that came out to $1200 for the pot. Gave $50 to fifth place, $100 to 4th, $200 for 3rd, $350 for 2nd, $500 for 1st!

Okay, I can give a little up. I found this forum through the Golf Channel Discussion Board. Someone posted a link. I'm too old to get a junior discount and not old enough to play the seniors tour (like I'm that good away). I currently play to a 9.6 hdcp. Low round of 77 this year.
The picture you see is a friend of mine, Warren Haynes of The Allman Brothers Band and Gov't Mule. I have several friends in the music business. Members of the Allman Brother Band, Gov’t Mule, The Derek Trucks Band, Big Sugar, The Phil Lesh Quartet, Black Crowes. I’m nobody important, I just made friends with the right person that lead to some other great friendships. When I'm not working or playing golf, you can find me running around North America visiting some of these guys.

Welcome Mule...what kind of music do your friends play?

hehe, that was me posting on Golf Channel, i guess it worked :)Gov't Mule gave rebirth to the power trio. Take Stevie Ray, crossed with Cream and Hendrix, add some Coltrane and you got it. They are now a quartet since the passing of our dearest friend Allan Woody (also formerly of the Allman Brothers Band). Derek Trucks is an undescribable 25 years old guitar player. Blues, jazz, soul, funk in a blender may do it. B.B. Kings says he plays like he’s 65. His wife is Susan Tedschi and she also has her own band. Phil Lesh is the formerly with the Grateful Dead, now just the The Dead and does his solo act based on Dead material. I’ll leave The Allman Brother Band, Big Sugar and the Black Crowes to their notoriety.

Great idea the folks on the Golf Channel DB do this. Find a good priced course, that's fun to play (meaning we don't need to be on the most intimidating course in Ontario). Make new friends and have fun.

Actually I kinda hope they are out for the next 5 years.

I hope they have to get loans to pay their bills. I hope they have to get real jobs like the rest of us. These players are overpaid and dont get what life is really like. Maybe after sitting out a few years and not having the $10,000,000.00 contracts, maybe they will realize what the rest of make in a year and what we can afford to pay to see them. Then maybe we can get back to watching hockey players play a game for the love of the game and not only for the $$$

Look at the CFL and what they make. Now "they" play for the love of the game!!

Besides............... I got me some 67's seasons tickets this year. Better to watch junior hockey than NHL brats.

Hi everyone.

I just joined about a week ago. I was golfing at Pheasant Run and got tagged up with Jaydog and his buddy. They told me about this place and I joined that night or the next day.

I have been golfing since 1990 and I still suck. My handicap is somewhere around 16-18. Although I have had a few pretty good rounds this year. I think my best was 82 at Caledon Woods in Bolton. The best run was one Birdie which followed with 7 Pars. Then I had three holes with penalties in a row. Double, Double, Triple.

I thought I golfed a lot with about 100 rounds this year but that doesn't even compare to 200+ rounds. Way to go!!

My interests at this time are Golf, golf, golf. I am currently trying to put together a computer ( having it made, as I don't know enough to do this myself ). If there are any computer experts out there, check out my upcoming post ( in about 5 minutes ) in the Local Pub Forum. I have questions that need to be answered.....please.

Anyway, enough about me. It is great being here, thanks for the warm welcome and welcome to all new members.

oh..haha green fees might be more expensive in Vancouver..i was talking about driving ranges here..(so expensive..at least the one in downtown Toronto is expensive...charge by minutes?!?!?!$24/hr?!?! takes me like half hour to warm up!)

green fees in BC ranges from 25- 100s...depending on the course...
for a decent public course..its probably around 40-60 ...

i got to play in a $150 course in the summer as my bday gift :D definately a difference compared to a regular course

Nope it didn't take me long at all. I guess it's because Golf is a sport where I really am competing with my own personal best each and every round. The perfectionist in me gets a little frustrated. But the golfer in me always forgives my last score and wants to try again! heehee

Hi, my name is Kevin. I've been playing golf for 3 years, but this was my first one playing semi-seriously. I plan on playing at least once a week for next year, and my goal will be breaking 100 for the first time. I'm pretty sure that I can do it. Here's my bag as of right now:

TM R360XD 10.5 deg R-flex
Crappy 3/5 woods from my starter set
Hogan CFT 3h hybrid
Mizuno MX-23 4-PW w/R300 shaft
Mizuno MP 50/54/58 deg wedges
Odyssey White Hot putter
Ogio Vaporlite bag

I played mainly Parkview and Tam O'Shanter this year (still on hacker courses) with a few rounds at Deer Creek South mixed in. I also played Angus Glen North and National Pines as well. Those were a treat!

I just noticed this thread and wanted to officially say hello and introduce myself.

I have been a lifetime hacker until 6 years ago when I discovered "Natural Golf" and Moe Norman's swing (who is dipicted in my Avatar), took some lessons and for the first time in my life, was able to strike a ball reasonably well. (BTW, Natural Golf Corp has really changed in the intervening years and most golfers who have studied Moe's swing are now using the term Single Axis method, or SA). I subsequently hurt my shoulder (rotator cuff) and rehurt it, resulting in about a 4 year layoff. I started golfing again this past August and played about 45 rounds into mid November. Alas, my short game still needs a lot of work and I can only manage a 21-22 handicap.

My other interests when I am not working (self employed) or spending time with my wife and our dog, are: golf club builiding, gourmet cooking, wine, listening to jazz and tinkering in my tiny woodworking shop.

My signature is a tribute for our dog, a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, named Brody, whose nickname is Bogey. I very often refer to him as either the Bog or Bogey the Bog. :dog:

Hmm... didn't notice this post until just now.

Anyhow, my name is John. I've been playing golf for ~8 years. I'm a graduate student at U of T doing cardiovascular research. I LOVE golf equipments, probably more than playing golf itself!! Another sport I'm addicted to is badminton.

My most interesting golf experience is witnessing an old lady (probably 70+ years of age) hit a hole in one.

Hi guys,

Found this site by surfing the web. It is a fun place to come and look at what golfer have to say. Sometime, I am a bit jealous when I see people golfing in November or in March but...

I live in Kirkland Lake (Norhtern Ontario). I am originally from Hawkesbury (eastern Ontario) and graduated from Ottawa University. I play a lot of golf being a member of our little 9 holes here in Kirkland Lake. It is not that busy so I must play 100 to 200 -- 9 holes a summer. We usually start on the long week-end of May and play until the end of September. Being a teacher gives me a chance to play more but my favorite time is in June where I can play from 6:00PM to 10:00 PM. I just love playing at dawn. It is also quiet so you can sometime play 27 holes after supper.

My handicap is slowly coming down. At the end of last summer got it to 12.

In the last 2 years I played Mont-Tremblant (Le Diable), Val D'Or, Amos, Nottawasaka, both courses in Hawkesbury, Hawk Ridge (Orillia), TimberWolf (Sudbury), ...

Hope to talk to a few of you,

Jean-Guy

Heyo to all, i guess i'm the only chick in here........PSYCH!!! I got a wood and golf balls in my middle pocket. How'd all of you like that ice breaker?!?! Good? 3 out of 10? Well lemme see, I was referred to by a friend, named ED Lin. Says he knows the creators of this site, and passed the URL to me since he knows I golf. About me, lemme seeeeeeeee. So I've had the same clubs (TM Burners) for the past 6yrs. My handicap is 106-111 (on bad days), I wanna improve, but i think it's a mind game for me now. I wanna play with other people of different skill levels, maybe better than me. Maybe I can meet new golfing buddies, so they can hustle me.

So wuts my initiation to get in this club? Question: How do I start new posts?

Hi Faemow, welcome to TorontoGolfNuts.com ... I know a Ed Lin...actually there are lots of females on this forum, i'm sure you noticed by now....golf is very popular amongst the females as well. if you want to improve, one way is to take a series of lessons.

start a forum? i think you are referring to a thread ... and yes you are able to start a thread. to learn how to use this forum, the Frequently Asked Questions (http://www.torontogolfnuts.com/faq.php?) page can help answer a lot of your questions, have a look! Enjoy!

Welcome Faemow, here's a site that should help give you more information. The Golf Association of Ontario (GAO) conducts many Provincial Championships including the Amateur Championship and Mid-Amateur Championship.

I think you would be interested in their Membership page http://www.gao.ca/gao/gaowebsite.nsf/wall/81

Thanks guys for all your advice. By the way i was just lying about my handicap. It's in the single digits on the good days, 11 on bad. I'm never consistant.

So yeah i worked at the Richmond Hill Golf/Country Club and all the golf pros went through golf school for 3-4 years. I dont' really wanna go through all that just to join tourney's. Is anybody here trying to become pro and is going through golf school? Tell me about it.

I once golfed with this guy, said he was practicing for his CPGA card, wasn't bad. He went through all the schooling. But get this, if you're a pro. Free golf everywhere!!!!

FYI: I think Paul Davies (pro @ RHGC) still holds the record at Eagles Nest. That's such a hard course!!!!!!!!

Hey Mule,

Yes the Mt Tremblant region is great. There is another course there called the Maître (Master). It is suppose to be awesome but hard to almost impossible to get on. I might try to go this summer.

Tell your wife's co-worker that if he wants to rent his villa to send me some infos. I might try to organize a group to go there in May. If his villa is close to the courses and is not too expensive, you never know....

Have a good day,

Okay, I guess I was supposed to go here first. Oh well, it wouldn't be the first time I started on 10...

So my name is Terry, and I'm a golfaholic.

Not a day goes by when I don't play golf or practice golf or shop for golf stuff or log in to at least 3 golf forums (I'm a regular at OttawaGolf) or read golf books or...

I tried quitting golf "cold turkey" once. Man, that was a rough day! Never again...

Golf has definately affected my family life. I have a wife and teenage daughter who both hate golf (or even getting up before noon), so of course I hardly see them. Luckily I have pictures of them at the office so I can remember what they look like...

Since I started golfing, my non-golfing friends hardly ever come over to visit anymore. Well, I assume my wife would TELL ME if they ever came over to visit. Hmmmm...

Golf has definately affected my career too. In fact, that's how I got addicted to golf in the first place! I work in the magazine business, and got introduced to the game 6 years ago when I took a job at Golf Canada magazine. So I HAD to try it out, right? Just the one time can't hurt...

Golf would have put a serious strain on my finances, if I didn't live in Ottawa where courses are plenty and green fees are cheap. Even in winter there are about 10 places with simulators (AKA "shooting galleries") where I can get my weekly fix. And contrary to popular opinion, IT IS NECESSARY to have at least 4 drivers and 3 iron sets on hand, just in case. I mean, its not like I paid retail for them...

And hey, I like other stuff too. I referee broomball and I like music. I have a good sense of humour (slightly warped, but I'm sure you've guessed that already). And I like romantic dinners and long walks in the countryside (OK, OK that last bit was golf-related too).

So now I've taken the first step, and admitted I have a golfing problem. Like John Daly though, I'm prepared to live with my demons. So who's away?

So I study @ Carleton, and winter here is fricken freezing. Golf is cheap, I always thought there would be more politicians golfing, hence more golf courses......But there isn't any!!!! they're all on the outskirts of Ottawa. Going to skewl in Ottawa, I cna't practice my game, or blow some steam during the cold that's like 6 months of the year.

Hey El Tigre, you know of any simulators that are close to my campus? Me and some friends are looking but can't find any. We usually go to the range near the airport off bank st. Man that's one ghetto style range, nice employees though gave me a really crappy 3W, but having a club is better than nothing

Carleton, eh? I'm a Commerce grad from a long time ago. I would recommend Golf-O-Max, which has 10 screens and is not far from the campus at Baseline & Merivale. Pineview also has a very nice setup with 2 screens in the east end. The software at Bent Grass in Bells Corners is a little too weird for my taste but some people like it. There's another 3 or 4 places on the Quebec side that I've never been to, and couple of more out in the boonies.

The dome at Lansdowne Park should now be open, if you want to go to an indoor driving range in the winter. I believe the hours for golf practice are weekdays only from 9 - 5. The Thunderdome in Blackburn Hamlet is also open - they are open for golf weekdays only from 8 - 4. I heard a rumour that the Airport Driving Range was sold to a housing developer. I only went there in dire emergencies anyway, so no big loss IMHO.

Maître (Master). .

Great course. We walked on in May during the middle of the week. Not sure if that was normal or lucky. Most course there don't open until the last week of May depending on the snow they get. Best phone ahead before booking your trip.

I'll get some info for you and a phone number for the villa. It's right on a course called Le Bete. It's on the road that runs right to the mountain.

I just found this place yesterday - it's nice to know there are plenty of other golfnuts in the area :)

My name is Alan, and I'm currently in the west Mississauga area. Still getting used to the winters here (came here from Ireland vis Bermuda) & not liking the white stuff - too hard to find balls :D

Looking forward to spending some time on the forum & swapping stories (and maybe some equipment too!)

Actually, I thought there were a couple of courses in Oakville (Richview??) and Burlington (Carlyle or Camisle??) that were open on weekends for winter golf. You hit special orange golf balls, and instead of a hole you just have a flagstick. Anyone know if there is any truth to this rumour???

One good thing - their rules allow free drop in case your ball flies into snow patch ;)

If the temperature climbs above 0 and they're open, drop me a msg - I am always available for a round

Hi Everybody! Hi Dr. Nick!

My name is Jesse and I've only today discovered this site. I've recently turned 30, and started playing golf again 2 years ago. I started when I was a teenager, but gave it up for a decade for reasons of student poverty and left wing politics. (I've since emerged from student poverty and graduated to the toil of small business owner. The left wing politics remain, and have made peace with golf.)

This past season I was fortunate enough to get in over 120 rounds. Though I must admit amazement at another user's claim of 277? or was it 255? either way quite impressive.

I started this past year playing to a 24 handicap, and with some work I've been able to get down to a 12. You can see my GAO page (http://www.starplan.com/member/lookup/ScoreHistory.aspx?ID=c39811e0y&EGLNumber=418677) that tracks my progress. I definitely recommend establishing an official GAO/RCGA handicap. It's like having a passport in the world of golf. There are lots of courses and events that require one as condition of play. If you don't belong to a private club, you can get an official GAO membership via Golf Town.

Last year I joined the Weston GCC (http://www.westongolfcc.com), which is an incredible local course/club, and has been the main reason I've been able to halve my handicap.

Belonging to a golf club has also got me thinking / brainstorming about the potential for a virtual golf club. I use the Internet professionaly and some of the most important relationships I've had in the last decade have been in "virtual communities". So the idea of a virtual golf club, i.e. a golf club without a course, just a membership, and an internet facility to foster social interaction, has always appealed to me.

I've not really joined or participated in any other online golf websites, however I love Toronto, lived here for almost 25 years, and was quite pleased to find this website.

Golf after all is a social game, and so I like the idea of having regular TorontoGolfNut tournaments or fun games as a way to build community.

So howdy-do neighbourinos! Nice to meet you all. Hope to maybe play a round with y'all once the season gets underway!

It sounds like there's a lot you can contribute about the GAO, your ideas for a virtual golf community (like this one?), future tournaments and your experience at Weston GCC :) . Were you just surfing along on the Net and came across this site? BTW, looks like you've got a pretty good weblog going.

I just realized I've been here a little while and haven't introduced myself.

Hello
Found TGN through the OttawaGolf forum.
I'm 36, have been golfing avidly since 2000 where I got the bug golfing at Northlands Golf Course in North Vancouver.
Have since moved to just outside of Ottawa, where there's now a wife and 2 daughters in my life.
I work in the High Tech industry and dabble in Web development also.
I also work part-time at a local golf course.
My father-in-law lives in Toronto and is an avid golfer also, hence we golf in the area.
Played Timber Ridge last summer and had a blast.
Great forum. Peace

Hi All,

I've been posting for a few days and just realized that I have never introduced myself. My name is Heather and I have been golfing about 6 years. I'm 35 years old and wish I had started playing years ago. I was never into golf until someone took me to the driving range and haven't stopped since. I've graduated in the last couple of seasons to the White tee box and shoot in the low 90s. (although 85 from the whites at National Pines was my best round of the season.)

I'm always looking for a round of golf and a course that is prefectly designed for a lefty!!!! I try to spend most of my paycheck at Golftown or on the course!

Other sports I'm in to...hockey and dragonboating.

Hi --- How did you ever get a membership at Weston Golf & CC. I know it is very private and don't they have a waiting list?? WOW

Hi Gentle Ben. A colleague I know via work is a member, which is how I found out about Weston. And indeed, they currently do not have a waiting list, and are really quite friendly and approachable with regard to membership. It's a great club, and a great investment towards the improvement of one's golf game.

Welcome to the forum Alan. Can't wait to read about some experiences of golf in Ireland! Play any famous or outstanding courses over there?
Sorry guys - I forgot I introduced myself. Too busy selling clubs :-)

The only notable courses I played in Ireland are Druids Glen (former site of the Irish Open) just outside Dublin, and Mahoney's Point in Killarney. I've also played Mid-Ocean and Port Royal in Bermuda. All good tests of golf surrounded by beautiful scenery, and it helps to be a good wind player...

Hello everybody, this is RISO, new golf nut on the block (or site). Playing golf for 3 years now, I was able to work out my handicap to the 18 level. I play for fun, not attitude. Generally speaking, if I shoot under 100, I am satisfied, any stroke below that score is a bonus. Great to meet y'all!!!

Hey golfers,

I'm not from your neck of the woods, but I'm crazy about golf. I've been playing over 30 years and still have a dream of shooting par for one round.

I'm just an ordinary golfer, but got crazy last year and decided to create something to help golfers practice. Took it to the PGA show this year and had a great time.

I won't post the web address unless asked. I think it would be inappropriate. I hope to make it up to the areas mentioned in this forum, but only in the summer.

I just found this site while looking for a women's tour in Ontario.

Does anyone know of a Women's Tour? Last year I play on the GLT, and competed with the men. I did participate in some of the GOA Events and Women's Toronto Star Event as well as the GOlf Scene Group. Am interested to find if there is anything else out there?

This is great. Finally a way to connect with others who take recreational golf as seriously as I do! I can't remember where I saw it now but someone was talking about www.parpatrol.com (http://www.parpatrol.com/) and the great deals to be found. The only restriction to me in playing as much golf as possible is MONEY. I logged on and found that if I signed up my foursome I could save tons of cash on my membership fee. The deals are great and there are lots of local courses to choose from. This thing is gonna pay for itself the first time I use it! Thanks to TorontoGolfNuts and Par Patrol for allowing me to play MORE GOLF! After all that's why we're all here, right?!

Like most of you I'm sure, I am a true golf nut. Took up the game maybe 10 years ago but didn't play regularly, then really got the bug about 4 years back. Now I love playing golf, reading anything golf and tinkering with different setups in the bag. Enjoy reading reviews on the forums and buying and swapping clubs. Looking forward to hanging out here with you all.:)

All due props go out to Mok and the rest of the TGN crew...

I myself just got back into golf in a big way last year after a painful 10+ year hiatus (ouch!). But I'm doing my best to make up for lost time - upgraded just about my entire bag within the last 30 days...Golf Channel on heavy rotation (who knew that 2:00 am re-runs of early-round Nationwide Tour coverage could be so riveting?!)...practicing the ol' lobber in the living room (btw: foam balls double as a great cat toy).

Needless to say, looking forward to the upcoming season (any courses open already??...heated ranges can only satisfy the jones so much!).

Thanks again for the forum...glad to be aboard.

New in the bag this season (and since I'm moving up from total c**p, I guess just about everything's an upgrade):

TM 580XD 9.5* driver
Cleveland Launcher Titanium 15* FW
Callaway BB 2004 7+ FW
Titleist 804 OS (precision rifle 5.0) irons
Nike CPR 22*, 26*

(thanx to Ebay for ridiculous deals on the above)...

Holdovers from last season:
52*, 56*, 60* - Wilson Harmonized Wedges
STX Greeny Plus V centre shaft putter

(hmmm...guess which items are next on the "to upgrade" list!!)

...watching the "Buy/Sell/Trade" thread intently...

Hey SNB, welcome to the forum. Why the 10 year hiatus?? Sounds like you were punishing yourself! ;)
Well, let's put it this way...the hiatus itself wasn't a form of self-punishment, but the reasons for the hiatus could be considered punishment ;) ...

"How to let 10 good golf seasons pass you by in the blink of an eye" in 4 easy-to-follow, chronological steps:

1. 3 years of university (too busy; student poverty  )
2. get married (too busy; leash interferes with your backswing ;) )
3. 3 more years of university (too busy; student, and other, poverty  )
3a. get divorced (too busy...though your swinging improves for some reason ;) )
4. 4 years of starting up your own business (way too busy...until you learn that you can take clients out on the course and write it off as an "entertainment" expense :) ).

Now, if I could only figure out how to write off golf lessons as a business expense, I'd really be set (even if you're not a golf pro, does this still count as "professional development"?? :p )

Just sign up for this forum and see whether it is different from some of the golf forums in the US. I have been playing golf for a long time and I guess at my age, my game is on the decline. I would be looking for discussion on equipements on this forum from now on.

definitely more than me, that's for sure...9 is a lot! so do you play with one or switch it up every couple of rounds? I try to use the same one most weeks but if it misbehaves then into the closet it goes. I once had a Scotty Cameron Newport Mid Slant which never got out of the closet for 18 months then sold it. I really like them all, the newest is the Olivia by Yes Golf. None of my putters are centre shafted, those do not fit my stroke. I also have 2 custom putters made by Tom Slighter in Washington state. Tom is like a relatively unknown Scotty Cameron but his work is great but pricey. Here is a link to his site...

Hello everyone. Just found your great little site today and joined up immediately. Been playing for quite awhile and I do enjoy this wonderful game. Now if I can only break 80, there will be a serious celebration. CHEERS!

Hi All,

I've moved to Toronto 7 years ago and took up golf 8 years ago. Wish I had started earlier.
Would like to see a group setup for getting together for golf outings. Seems not many of the people I know golf.
Met one group 2 years ago called"Fairway Wanderers". Everyone exchanged emails and would email for setting up a game one set days. Uusally 3-5 days warning . If you could make you rplied. Once 3-4 people agreed on the day a tee time and course was set. This was great for setting up games and meeting other golf nuts. Group dissappeared.

Anyone interested?

Maybe we could have a TEETIME forum here.

Welcome to the forum Golf4me2, glad to have you on board. Just to let you know, there IS a thread on the forum looking for players. "Find playing partners". Check it out. I'm sure it will come in handy this season. Last year, I met a couple new golfers using it.

After loittering for a while (and spending too much $$$ in the forums), I noticed this thread.

Name is Chris, also a U of T student like a bunch of other people apparently. Played a lot back in high school (7 years ago!!!), but due to living out of town/out of country/not having a car, haven't played a lot recently. Despite a couple of really ****ty rounds of free golf with work last summer, I'm getting addicted again. Can't wait for the first round this season. Next week is looking promising.

I'm trying to figure out how people get in 100+ rounds a year (let alone 200+)!?! That's probably a good decade for me!

Hey Golfers,

I'm 24 years old and living in Belgium. Been playing golf for over 17 years, and as a result of that my hcp sets at 0.4 .

I would love to come and play some golf in the states, because there are so many great courses. Only one I ever did was Doral at Miami. So if anyone has a spare room at home, please let me know when I can visit you. I'll bring some Belgian choclates :)

Greetings !!!!

Hey Boyozzz, that's great that you're interested in golfing in the states, but CANADA IS IT'S OWN COUNTRY!!!!!

You should come down anyway, I bet some of our courses would knock your breath away too.

My quick bio -- 27yrs female and anxious to start my 2nd season
I suck BIGTIME, but absolutely LOVE the game. Also rollerblade a bit (suck at that too), play a bit of tennis (suck at that too), jog and work out. I have my own company, so I get some perks -- I can make my own time for golf! :D

Heyya, thanks for all the warm welcomes!!

I play wherever and whenever I can -- last summer I got to check out Mt tremblant golf -- really sweeet courses! ha ha took me forever to finish some of them though. Even still, I will have to go back this year. My first game of 2005 will be next week at Deercreek. Havent played that one yet, so I'm excited.

Golf now is for golf later... I'm preparing for retirement!! :D

Hello all! Was just browsing this site and I think its fantastic! Its great to find a site dedicated to golf in this city. I'm 24 and only really hit the courses last season (long time hack on the ranges though, nor do I count the little 9 hole executive course that used to reside by the dome). Bought my first set of clubs last year and it really helped me confidence wise. Last year was a good feeling out experience, its really night and day being on a driving range and on a course. Anyhow, look forward to reading everyones opinions and feedback and I'll definately be sharing my course experiences with everyone. Cheers

New to the sport. Usually golf double bogie.... or double digit! Play other sports as well, and about as good. I live at Danforth and Pape, and don't have a car. So if there are others goin'... let me know! I may be seen on the course with a six pack, and some smokes :hush: Ask any questions u like ... I'll be glad to answer.

Welcome to the forum Golfsmith. What made you get into Golf? Have you seen our How old is everybody thread? Seems like THE personal question to ask here :D

BTW, if you see someone online, I believe you can PM (private message) them by clicking on their Alias link, and they'll get your question right away.
