I played Hamilton Golf and Country Club yesterday, the second time I have played it. Some of the fairways weren't in the greatest condition, but the greens were great! They roll true and fast, and they are so much different than the courses that have been built in the last 20 years...no huge undulations, just sloping from one side to another. It almost makes them tougher to read because they are so subtle.
I played the West/South nines (orignal 18 holes and the holes they played for the Open) and there are some amazing holes. Huge elevation changes that you do not expect when you drive into, or by the course.
All in all it was a great day on a golf course that has so much history, which makes you feel priveleged to play there.
Oh and by the way I sunk a 40 foot downhill slider to win my match (just for fun) on the 18th hole....it was a better finish than the Open 2 years ago...too bad the fans weren't there to see it!
