havent played there this year, but its a nice track...a couple of reachable par 5s...cut the corner on 18, and 7.

TC is one of the best deals around. Go to their website and print off the 2 for 1 coupon a couple times, and it becomes a ridiculous deal. Very nice course, greens are VERY fast when its dry out. Spend some time on the practice green before you go out or you might end up with some US open moments (and not the tiger-chips-it-in kind)

Lots of elevation changes. The GPS system is VERY useful because there are a lot of doglegs and blind shots. The greens could be fast depending on how firm they get. A lot of it has to do with the fact they are very slopy and thus you get a lot of breaking putts. I think you'll enjoy it. I find the course similar to lowille except longer and better condition. Par 3's are pretty strong and all but one par 5 can be reached in two.

I played Tangle Creek on Sunday. The course was in good condition, although the greens are a lot firmer than what I had hoped. The last time I played this course was when it first open 4 (?) seasons ago. A lot of the greens don't stick very well.

I didn't realize until a friend told me but there are some holes there that are horrendously designed. The 5th hole (first carry hole) played about 250 carry on Sunday with wind in the face -- most people can't clear that from the golds. The 7th hole par 5 is the worst hole on the course as it does not reward a good tee shot. You can be 300 straight up the middle and hit an 80 yard shot to lay up. Its a stupid hole.

On the bright side, the GPS is indeed handy, especially when you are in the fescue or another fairway. This may sound like a negative review but keep in mind I had three birdies (play to a 23 handicap right now) and arguably shot my best round of golf from tee to green ever. I think its a decent course but at around $100, there are a number of courses I would rather play.

Played TC last month. Great course. Very well maintained. Greens are hard as rock. This is one of those courses where u might want to land your shot before the greens. Lots of fescue so it helps to hit it straight. When I played, they threw in a hotdog and drink into the green fee. Great value.

I've heard some rave reviews on the course, but I haven't played there myself. I intend to get there before the end of the season though. I've also heard that the greens were fairly hard. I suggest going there within a couple of days of a good rainy day.

I have golfed Tangle Creek a number of times this summer and even a couple times this week. I REALLY enjoy this golf course and can only say good things about it~It is challenging; nice clubhouse; good service. The GPS system in the carts is great and I love it when playing tournaments and all your fellow competitors scores are posted real time. You can even see the beer/refreshment cart coming indicated by a big 'M' on the system! :)

The greens are pretty quick there~ and a few of them, hole 2 in particular I think~ are sloped so much that a super soft touch is needed when putting or else you will be headed even further uphill again on a missed putt.

The only drawback~ which is temporary~ is that they are doing quite a bit of work and changes to the track at Tangle Creek as they're in the process of making it a more competitive course.

Fees aren't steep either!

BTW~ I tried to find the 2 for 1 coupon for GR8 and couldn't find it for you~ sorry.

I also meant to mention that almost all the Barrie Hotels have 'Stay and Play' packages with Tangle Creek if anyone is staying up this way.

Really nice course! They just renovated the clubhouse and it looks fantastic. Love the GPS system in the clubcars too. Get a cart - it's a tough walk! Lots of hills!
