I am looking to sell my Callaway x-18 irons. The set is 3-PW and the Callaway X-18 sand wedge, with Callaway's System 75 graphite regular shafts. They are in very good condition - 8.5 or 9 out of 10. These same irons sell at GT for $598.00 without the sand wedge. The only reason for selling them is I have been professionally fitted with Callaway X-18 Tour Pro's with Project X shafts and love them. Might consider trades. Asking $400.00 o.b.o.

my buddy saw these clubs and said they are in real bad condition

I also think the offer of $250 is not that bad. When I sold my X-18's with SW, I got $400 it was when they were still selling for $800 and they weren't yet a year old.

no need to scold the guy that posted $250; that's how much they are worth

I looked very closely at the pictures and they don't look beat up to me. I'm now thinking if it were me I'd be inclined to hold out for a bit more than $250. They are $600 at GT. Good condition they should be worth at least $300 to $325.

How long ago were these clubs purchased, and from where? Also, do you still have the receipt?
Thanks

I think its more supply and demand rather then value when it comes to selling something. If you look at rfd's iphones that are on sale and you'll see we live in a crazy world

Date Time: 2008:07:21 17:48:10
Make: Canon
Model: Canon PowerShot A570 IS
Resolution Unit: inches
X Resolution: 180
Y Resolution: 180
Not sure how these can be considered to be "real bad condition"...when the pics clearly show they are not. Date and time stamp also show pic was taken a day before they were posted.....so it's not like it's a pic from 6 months ago.
Maybe your buddy should invest in eyewear, as opposed to a new set of clubs? :D

A good place to look at golf club values would be
http://www.golfbluebook.com/details.aspx?scatId=860&mfgId=281&modelId=7073
This shows that the OP is actually selling the clubs for a reasonable amount at $370 for a graphite set which are in pretty good shape. I can see why he would turn down an offer of $320.
Good luck with the sale.

People usually sell for very reasonable prices on here.
And the offer of $250 was $150 below asking.
I think offers should be done in PM's and not on Post.
I hate seeing low-ballers, with their crappy offers.
Just ranting.

Sorry, but that last picture is not sitting right with me. That is not the colour scheme for the system 75 regular graphite shaft, nor are those stock grips. Any ideas, and could you please provide serial numbers?
Thanks

Agreed. First thing I noticed was the blue color on the back of the heads are off... Other X18s I have seen have a darker blue.
Didn't want to thread crap but it has already started so....

Never trust a digital camera (or your display monitors) for true color accuracy. He's close enough anyone truly interested could meet up. As for not being stock grips. Non of my clubs have the stock grips.

I am in no way accusing the seller in any way, and am simply looking for answers to legitimize and help his sale. Perhaps he has made a mistake in the shaft type, and, if he has replaced the grips himself, I'd like to know. In this case, I am very close to purchasing this set for a friend at his asking price, so long as they can be proven to be authentic. Unfortunately, the seller has no receipt, and got the clubs in a trade.

I'd go meet up with him and take someone with you that knows how to tell a legitimate club.

From the pics I think the clubs are in good condition. I wouldn't really care about the color over if the clubs are legitimate.
But I do agree if your shooting out offers... PM the seller and don't post.

With counterfeits being a serious problem my number one concern would be if they're authentic or not.

I'm not saying they are knock offs, but do they make knock offs with the exact logo, you would usually see the identical club but with some funky looking name, callawag or something like that.

Yep, they do... a buddy of mine bought a set when he was in china since they were dirt cheap anyway & wanted to see how they fare? It's quite easy to recognize the knock offs though, try to peel off the plastic film on the back of the heads & you would notice the colors of the logo coming off as well :D... They rust pretty easily too. so if you see even a speck of rust on the cavity back, chances are they're rip-offs.

I have read all of your posts. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THERE IS A CAMPAIGN TO SMEAR ME AND THE CLUBS I AM SELLING. I KNOW WHAT I BUY, FROM WHOM I BUY AND WHEN I BUY.
Furthermore, I don't know drksi99, nor do I know any of his friends who he alleges to have seen these irons. I would like to see him produce this individual(s). But I do know that this individual and drksi99 better seek legal advice A.S.A.P.
Nobody is forcing you to purchase these clubs. But I will stand behind everything I sell.

No big deal here. This set is known to be heavily counterfeited, as are Fusion, Rapture, CGB, and Cleveland irons. It is very common for sellers to provide serial numbers when selling sets such as these, to avoid any hassle. Having zero trade history on this forum, I think it would be in your best interest to provide as much information about the set as possible to prospective buyers.
I've moved on. Best of luck with your sale.

Please allow the seller to sell the item at the price he want. As for the authenticity concern, it is always best to meet in person to check the clubs out. Any further comments on the clubs or seller should be done privately and with a respectful manner. Flaming or demeaning comments will not be tolerated (public or private). Thanks guys.

Thank you ondadl for your advice and information. It is greatly appreciated. I will have these clubs authticated by either GT or Callaway Canada.
I do understand about being "the first time". That is why I do not have a problem of providing identification and meeting in a public place were people know me, but most importantly the buyer feels comfortable.
I'm not here for a good time, I'm here for a long time.
Thank you to all.
