I know this is a little beyond the stated scope of TGN, but I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with golf courses in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. I tried the search engine on this forum to not much avail, understandably. I then googled ‘Minneapolis golf’ and found a link to the 7 municipal courses there, which seem quite reasonable topping out at $32 on weekends:

There were also quite a few non-muni courses, but I am too lazy to sift through them – maybe there is a site with course reviews someone can point me to that they are happy with?
I will have 1 day there, maybe 2 that I can try some golf on. Any feedback on any courses at, say, $60 or under to walk would be tremendous. (Heck, even over $60. I’ll only live once :)
Thanks!

You might try this one. I watched an LPGA event there and then went back to play it. Very nice course. Compared very nicely to $100+ GTA courses. Rental clubs were Calloways. For one round they were well worth it to avoid getting your own clubs there on a plane.

This Robert Trent Jones II design opened in 1987 about fifteen minutes from downtown Minneapolis. This Minneapolis golf course is a four-star track, featuring unique course design that includes an island hole (the 17th) and a rare triple green, shared by the 9th, 18th and the courses practice green. The Edinburgh USA has played host to numerous LPGA and top national amateur events. Shot making is emphasized over power here. Green fees are a steal at $45-$55.

Give the Chaska Town Course a whirl. You might also want to try Stonebrooke. Or, for something slightly closer to the city, there's Braemar or the University Golf Course.
