Hey guys and gals...
I am rather excited right now. 3rd time golfing, played here today, shot a 99. I am very very happy with this score, given the fact I am pretty new and this is not the easiest course going.
Sorry, for the dumb post, just very happy with the outing. and the funny thing is I came second out of the seasoned golfers i was with. They gave me 20 stroke lead, we all bet 10 bucks and hey I won. I did not even need that lead of 20. The top shooter shot a 96. So I will say, I am pretty pleased with the round, and they ate their words by evenb giving me that 20 stroke lead.

congradulations ! just a thought anyone who shoots a 96 should not be giving anyone 20 strokes, even a 40 handicapper will probably beat you if you shoot that close to 100 and give them 20 strokes, next time if they give you the same deal make it interesting and go $100 a hole !

99 is one thing, but the real skill is working it into the conversation for a few days afterward. ;)

How is a 99 possible the third time out?????:cookoo: Have you spent 100 hours at a range and putting green? Are you under 25 and a very good hockey or baseball player? Sorry, that score sounds damn impressive if true.

Is it really necessary to be so negative and critical? Why is it so surprising to shoot 99 in his 3rd round out? I dont know who Cabral is but congrats on the impressive score. Maybe he did take lessons and spent hours on the range. I know lots of people will say the average golfer cannot break 100 and that for somebody new to the game to shoot 99 is rare but not unbelievable. To accuse the poor guy for having a wonderful game and enjoying himself is just not fair.

99 is possible...........if he had some good prior instruction and worked on the range prior to playing. Good for him if it is 99......
My question is why this thread is under the Golf Course section and was not moved by the Greenskeeper to the 19th Hole.....???

I was surprised but did ask for specifics as he was the one stating he shot 99 his third time out. Was I negative? maybe..... but moreso I asked questions. Goshawk in another thread said he did it too, but said he put 3 solid weeks of work to do so. I just want it confirmed, because that is an incredible feat in any case and if he did it with little practice or work around the green it is downright shocking.
Probably the same reason I am so suspicious about scramble scores.

I shot a career game my first year of playing golf with an 86 on Rolling hills classic course and since then I haven't been able to come close to that... just proves miracles can happen!
(started playing middle of last summer)

Hey Guys and Gals,
Sorry for this thread, at no point was I trying to be conceited at all. It was my third round. I have simply been listening to tips from my buddies I have played with. I have not had any lessons at all, just keeping my ears open when I do play. I am a natural athlete and pick things up pretty quickly I suppose is the reason I had a good day. I know the next time I play I will more than likely be knocked back down to earth. But for now, I feel I played a hell of a round, and I am truly enjoying golf and learning all about it, and working on improvement.
To be completely honest, I was just very happy with my day. I guess I can thank my clubs for doing most of the work. I was making some very good puts which really helped me out as well.
Sorry if I offended anyone here?
Oh and PS... the hockey and baseball question, Played 4 years of Junior A, and also played provincial level baseball for 5 years.

Ryan, I don't think you have anything to apologize for based on what you posted.
Congrats on a great round and stop worrying what others say. ;)

Back to the intent of the thread...
I played Pipers Heath a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed. Well maintained, challenging and each hole was unique. I really liked #8 par 3, and especially #10 par 5.
BTW - I shot a 98 and was on cloud nine. For me, that is a good round. Can't wait to go back and improve that score.
Good on ya cabral114
