Fox Creek is new course in Dieppe - havent played - good reports.
Royal Oaks is great $64 - big course, big fairways, big greens, etc.
The Kingswood Lynks in Fredericton I like better (you gotta drive right by it) - designed and built by one guy and a grader.
Moncton Golf can be played if a club member (nothing special)
Not much else - lotta 9 holers.
Best course within a commute is Northumberland in Pugwash - Seaside with the best Par 3 in Canada (bar none) 192 yards, over a cove to an elevated roller coasting green with a pot bunker the size of Drummondville dead in front, and a rowboat in back. The green is edged by the ocean, be careful if you rim a putt out from the top, close your eyes and go for a walk, you'll be crab food.
But the beauty of it...
Like 16 at Cypress, there's an easy bail out. Hit a 7-9 iron short right and try to make par with a pitch (for all of you lacking in cojones).
The course swings by the ocean for the first five holes and then turns back inland with a fantastic assortment of pine bordered holes.
Anne Murray plays there a lot (commuting from Spinghill, dontcha know).

Northumberland has been referred to by numerous Golf Reviewers as the most "underrated course in Canada".
Here is a good Heli-guide view of the course and each hole.

I grew up just outside Pugwash (Amherst, which has a nice older golf course if you're in the area) and have played Northumberland several times - the most recently being on Canada Day when I went back to NS on vacation.
It is definitely a fun course and great value for the price. The holes on the water are beautiful and can play REALLY tough when the Atlantic wind is up. The woodland holes are also nice, although not in the same category as the seaside holes. It is a bit of a drive from Moncton, probably an hour and 15 minutes or so.
In Moncton, Royal Oaks and Fox Creek are reasonable. I prefer Royal Oaks...

My Dad's cousin Harlow Hollis was one of the guys who built the first 9 holes at Northumberland, then NS Parks took it over and built 9 new holes (including the sea side ones).
I got out at Fox Hrbr a few years ago - I can tell about it if anyone's interested.
Amherst GCC is indeed a nice track - that first hole is a girl with a curl - a real tendency to put hope over experience by trying to hit the downslope about 220 out - of course the dense forest down either side beckons and usually attracts my tee ball.
Worth a play for visitors - not far off the highway.

I played Royal Oaks a few years ago. It was in great shape, and that was paying reduced rates because the course was still winter damaged in July. Greens, tees, and fairways were pristine. Easy walk too if that's an option at all.
