wow, they are 4-1 to start the season! Amazing! Beating Houston, Portland, Detroit and Utah! So what do you guys think about the raptors so far? Think it's too early in the season? At least there is something to fill the hockey void!

The Raptors are doing pretty well and most of their success can be attributed to Rafer Alston and the emergence of Loren Woods. Rafer controls the ball, runs the fast break and actually drives to the hoop (courgh cough....Vince Carter... cough cough). Loren Woods is playing beyond his expectations and has become a very nice addition to the Raptors front court.
Sorry to say but VC and Jalen just don't play the game the right way and they are often the reason why the Raptors offense stands around and takes ill-advised jump shots. I don't know who I dislike more, both of them are very frustrating to watch.

The start that the Raptors are having this season is a very pleasant surprise. I was optimistic that they'd be a better team than last season, but noway would I have thought that they'd start the season 3-0, and now improve their record to 4-1 after beating a division leading, previously unbeaten team in the Utah Jazz.
I agree with 69 that Alston has been uber impressive thus far. He really pushes the ball and maintains an up-tempo game. Woods has been outstanding thus far too. Nobody expected him to contribute the way he has thus far. I think he had 14 pts, 9 reb, and 4 blocks last night. Not bad for somebody who was only expected to take up space in the middle.
I still think it's too early to predict what's in store for the Raptors for the rest of the season, but the fact that we're pulling out close-game wins against quality teams might be a tell-tale sign that the Raps are on the up. Not to mention that we appear to have a Bench this year. I think if we can win half of the games on this road-trip and return home with a 6-3 record, the Raptors may be a serious playoff contender. :fingersx:

Hmm... this makes me want to start watching them again.
I've got to say they played pretty bad last season. I'm very suprised from their results so far this season, but I'm still pessimistic on how long they can keep this up. I guess we'll have to see...

Jazz may have been unbeaten prior to the Raptor's win last night, but most knew they were still a pretty pathetic team.....
I agree with bogey, still much too early in the season...I have to remind you that Raptors once started the season 12-5 only to end up faltering and missing the playoffs....

Jazz may have been unbeaten prior to the Raptor's win last night, but most knew they were still a pretty pathetic team.....The Jazz are actually a pretty nice team. Every year they get counted out before the season even starts and they always prove people wrong. They are also playing without their top two point guards in Raul Lopez and Carlos Arroyo who are both injured. I'm predicting playoffs for this team even in the stacked West.

If you don't believe me on this prediction, we can always make a "friendly" wager on it. That is if you are willing to put your money where your mouth is.....

The Raps are surprising me but definately WAYYYY too early to say if they're for REAL or not. I think VC is still not the same VC we saw a few years ago. Still doesn't drive the net and no more highlight reel dunks!! I like the improvements Bosh made and Loren Woods and Alston have changed the dynamics of this team. Lets give them a month before we make any bold predictions.
