Today, I played at Humber Valley for the first time since last August. I enjoyed going back as I like the vibe there. A small and picturesque parkland course, it seems less institutional and more homey than Tam O., for example.
My favourite holes were nos. 7, 10, and 17. One letdown was the abrupt end to the course with a long par-3 hole that seemed like a wide field.
The round lasted about 5 hours, yet wasn't at all unpleasant. The course was in decent shape except for the greens which were too soft, mushy really.
As sharkhark mentioned in his $24 mornings post, the cart girl was attractive - maybe not the hottest, as he stated, for Candice at Tam O. has an appealing "smart look" - and so friendly.

Hey brother, I'm not disputing that; I agree that sharkhark's brunette is lovely (and personable as well.)

I agree if only people can repair their divots:mad: the greens would not be that bad.

There were too many ball marks on each green. I figured recent rains made softer the greens and more easily gouged by incoming shots. Golfers must take extra care in these conditions whether making sure any damage is fixed, not driving carts all over soggy fairways, etc. Unfortunately, some are ignorant of the consequences (likely infrequent golfers) and some simply don't care.

Humber's ok, and quite pleasant, but it's not balanced IMHO. They have some god awful easy yawner holes (75 yard par 3? c'mon!!) and then some toughies. Front 9 is way easier than back 9 also. So it's a bit too easy for low handicappers but sometimes demoralizing to beginners.
As for the cart girl you mentioned, she's the "hot cart girl" loved by all at Don Valley last year, now she works at Humber. She's a friend of Mrs Hombre and certifiably hot.

That's the women tee    . If you hit from the blue tees it is at least 90 yards. I guess you never saw the driver that odyssey makes    i bet if you tee off with your putter you can get it on the green i know exactly what hole you are talking about and yes you are right i am not too much of a fan about that front 9 there i enjoy the back 9 alot more.:D

I talked to a guy in the pro shop earlier this year. They're going to somehow use one of the par 5's on the back 9 to be part of the front, then switch one of the short par 4's for the back. Front and back will be a bit more balanced that way. I think they're doing it next year. I can't recall...and it's late ... I'm just winding down from a stinkin' 11pm hockey game! Getting up in a few hours to head to Osprey.

I grew up playing that course....cant tell you how many balls i sliced onto Albion road on #2...I think I hit a bus twice....Nice little track...but I dont think that the word 'picturesque' should be used to describe Humber Valley..
Unless the townhouses and dirty humber river is picturesque....

Sorry, never went that far right to check the colour of the water.
You know, it's a good iron track. I never came away from there feeling I had my pockets picked. Used to practise my putting and chipping there after work most days.

it's the citywide championships, and they're held at all the municipal courses on the same day. then the top few from each one play the city championships final against each other. For ladies it's aug 16, for guys I'm not sure but probably around the same time frame
