Just wanted to get some feedback on this course. I played there for the first time a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. Only 6000 yrds from the back tees but very tight. Par 5's fairly easy, par 3's can be dangerous if your not careful. Overall good condition for the price. $30 for 18 with a cart for twilight rate.

I havent played it in years but doubt much has changed. Very good conditions. Lots of challenge from whichever tees as there is water and woods. Some holes are very strategic and tight, one par 3 i remember you had to hit over a pond into a chute of trees. Short gone. Long gone. Left gone. Right gone. Had to be dead on.
Nice atmosphere too. They are one of the very few courses that currently have those fun looking single rider cart/cycle thingamagigs.......
ps oh and cheap too compared to GTA

I love Pines!! Very fun course to play :) Probably one of the tightest courses in Ontario. The atmosphere is great, very friendly and relaxed. A must play, just bring extra balls just incase your hitting it with a bit of a leak :)

I have always maintained that POG is the best golf course for the money in southern Ontario....
Lively Golf club is the best in Northern Ontario
Pines is a great layout, short by most stds at 6100 or so but extremely tight in spots....there are 4 holes back to bak in the marsh that eat all but the straigtest shooters up
It is always in good condition , fairways are not private course kept but comparable to Bradford Highlands....and with excellent greens
very walkable and and good food in the clubhouse
Spring is a time to avoid due to alot of bugs and the fact that water levels are high on the marsh holes.
a spectacular fall course

If I get back to playing this season, I just may have to make a trek up north to play POG. I passed by it a couple of weeks ago going to/from Haliburton and it looked really nice from the road. We had to pause for some construction and I got a good look at a couple of fairways and greens. I've been looking at it for a couple of seasons, but never had a good reason to drive up there. On my play list now though!

Growing up i played there once a week at least... great golf course, tight, and tough regardless of the yardage. ONly one rough spot... the mosquitos!! worse then Silver lakes at times.
