Hey,
I have heard a lot about Pickering Golf Club. Unfortunately, not good things. :p People say their fairways are like concrete, and some say they like the course. Has anyone here been out there this season? How did you like it ?
Thanks,
jake.

Thanks,
jake.Is that Seaton? Haven't been there for years and thought it had closed down, but it looks like the same ownership as Lakeridge from their site.

Its been rebranded back to Pickering GC, Its orignal name sake. The fairways are in decent shape thanks to all the rain this year. The greens are a bit on the slow side but its a pretty value for your $$$. Just get out early in the day and you can get a 4 hour round.

Just played there today, Saturday morning fee was $55 carting, but if you sign up for some "Bruce" membership (free) they give you $10 off your greens fee so it ended up being $45 w/cart.
For the price you can't really go wrong, the course is still called Seaton golf but also Pickering Golf Club... odd (two different signs everywhere)
The course is nothing spectacular, pretty much a hackers course, mostly for beginners. The front nine is wide open, and the back nine is tight. The club house is run down and everything is old, the golf carts were not clean and very run down.
The course maintenance was ok, only 1 major ruff patch on a fairway. There was No marshal or starter (on a WEEKEND!) and the course layout was not thought out too nicely. Couple of tee boxes were shared and very close to other greens. Fairways were a little hard but the greens were nice but slow. The course is fairly small (about 6,000) yards, and the only distance markers was from 200 yards.
For the price you can't go wrong on a weekend carting for beginners, but for those who expect more (like me) I don't think I would go back. The only upside about maybe going back is that you could probably hit the 6th hole (which is next to the parking lot) and play the rest of the course for free since there is no marshal or starter.
