Let's talk about the long ball, what is your longest drive and where ?

And please like most males are prone to do in macho situations, let's not say it is longer than it actually is.

I've never been a big hitter, but a couple of years ago, right after I got my TM R480, I nailed one over 270. Nothing compared to some here, but I was pretty happy with it then. Now if only I can figure out why I've gone brain dead with my swing at get that kind of range back again.

not sure how long it was, but I was playing Angus Glen South Course and on the first hole I hit my drive and only had about 100 yards into the green. Too bad I put my wedge shot into the water. Still made par though:$

I have many drives approaching 360 in the past. When I was younger in my late teens and actually in shape anything 310 - 330 was reachable off the tee. Now I can still get it out over 310 if i can actually hit a fairway. In the last few rounds I was inside 180 yards from the whites on 18 at kings forest from 496, i drove #1 on the chedoke martin back tees with a good kick at 320, and in the same round within 60 yards on the 370 yard 11 drove 13, over 14 and right of 18. Drove 1 on the chedoke beddoe last time out from the whites and my two best drives ever came on the 350 yard 4th to a green side bunker and the 355 yard 16th to 20 feet. I have been playing with a friend new to the game which explains having to play at chedoke.

I would like to know what the average golfer actually hits. I consider myself to suck but when i'm in control of my driver I hit about 290 consitantly, but I find most of the time I am the shortest hitter of my friends. I hit a good 320 on saturday on 18 at kings forest and got beat for longest drive twice. Granted the group of 20 guys included the club pro, another scratch golfer who also works there and about 4 other scratch golfers. I think some people never realize how far they can actually hit a ball. I played with a guy his 3rd time out on the weekend and he hit one 310. I'm sure it was a fluke but it still happend. I know 90% of the time when I step up to the tee it will be a 240 yard slice or a 150 pop up but every couple of rounds a bomb or two will fly which reminds me why I play this game so much.

Longest this season is 332 yards - 8th hole at whirlpool (inside the 100 off the blues) and the 12th at Trafalgar (well inside the 200 off the whites). Longest I can recall is a 345 yard 3 wood on the 11th at Port Royal in Bermuda - downwind, large downslope, you get the idea :)

8th hole at Crimson Ridge up in the Soo. The hole plays about 490 from the Blues and is a dogleg left to right and downhill. The trick is that you have to get to the downhill slope, which is about 250 out. I crushed a draw (lefty) and the ball just took off and kept going and landed on the downslope of the hill. The course was really dry so I thought it would get a decent run. When I got to the ball it was about 130 in. The drive was 360 yards with some serious downhill run on a very dry course. If anyone has ever played the hole, I was at the bottom of the hill, about 100 yards from the creek.

I have a lot of troubles with my driver, usually slicing it into the next fairway, however last week at Tam O'Shanter I hit a 280 yard drive right down the middle.. made my day
.. i skulled my approach shot and bogeyed though :S

An unbelievable 323 yards at Heather Glen on the 8th hole. A massive downhill shot from a elevated tee. Mind you we were the last people on the course and took the liberty of a few extra shots for fun. One of my partners and I both got a hold of one each and they just kept going and going. Measured it to be 323 and 325.

I blame wind and downhill.

My longest drive was on the 14th Hole of The South Course at Angus Glen while I was doing a "Beat the Pro" for a corpotare event that we had. The hole is 527 yards from the white tee's, after it was all said and done the group only had 135 yards to the green. So my longest drive would be around 392 yards or so!

#7 St.Andrew's Valley, Par4, 398-yards from the back tees ...
I hit a MONSTER drive of 216 yards with a slight fade ...
leaving just a 3-wood into the green, front pin location that day.
One-putt for birdie! :)

Longest drive was in Alberta at a track called GreyWolf. Awesome course if you get a chance to go there, do it! I forget the hole number, but the hole was straight down hill (its a mountain course) and we measured the ball at around 330. Best feeling ever!:D

310 yards including rolling at #18 Angus Glen North. I used a lady golf ball and hit a really distinct and "ping" sound with my Callaway BB driver dead straight left centre of fairway.

i don't usually remember good drives since i usually muck up the subsequent shot. my body either knows how to hit T-shots or ground shots, not both.

i hit a pretty good one on #14, south, angus glen on sat. had about a 4 iron approach (190-200 yds) by that big bunker in the middle, though we were playing from whites.

oh yeah, i hooked my approach shot into the left rough about 120 yds near the cartpath... good wedge shot and two putt gave me par. i had 7 easy pars that day and still managed to shoot 100... used up about 3 sleeves of balls in the process...

I only wish it hit the fairway more often or I will have to change my name. I was also a national level powerlifter in my late teens and destroy balls with sheer power alone. I'm sure most of you are familiar with another powerlifter turned golfer named Jason Zubak.

292 yards and 281 yards (both downwind), but normally 240 to 250 yards.

My son (+1 hcp) built a new driver last year and said he was going to swing out of his shoes. With no wind it finished at 360 yards. He only used that driver for 1 week as it wasn't as accurate as he wanted. This year he went to the KZG Gemini 395 and he averages 300 yards and stands 5'8" tall.

I'm using a KZG dual face Gemini 14.5° Right Hand, 395 cc, Aldila ONE 65-R, laser FLOed, 47.0" long

My son is using a KZG dual face Gemini 10° Left Hand, 395 cc, Grafalloy Prototype COMP NT Nano 62 gram shaft, XX-Stiff, laser FLOed, 46.0" long

Both drivers built in our shop.

www.TourIQ.com (http://www.touriq.com/)Harry,
Great to have you on board. Get over to the introduction thread and let the folks know who you are and what you do (club making).
I won a ACCRA SC75 S Prototype shaft (thanks Gavin) at this years TGN tournament at Angus. Put a KZG SP 700 Titanium head on it. Now I have had to relearn my second shots at the home club.
