Im planning a trip in September, and they offer 3 choices on the Muskoka Trail Packages.

IF MONEY IS NO OPTION, whats the best combo?

1. RockyCrest and Lake Jo
2. Deerhurst and Grandview (Mark Omeara)
3. Grandview (Mark Omeara) and The Rock?

thanks

I would rank the options in the order you have listed. Best package is #1 Rocky Crest and Lake Jo.

IMO Grandview and The Rock are a notch below the other 3 courses.

One advantage of Grandview and Deerhurst package is that they are within a mile of each other which cuts down on the drive between rounds.

If those are your only options, I like Lake Jo and Rocky Crest as well. But in your situation I would try to get Bigwin included in any package. It is the best experience in Muskoka. More memerable than either Jo or Rocky which as very similar in some respects.
Good luck.

Pud, that would be possible with Bigwin if it was part of the Muskoka trail golf package, but the course's offered are only the ones listed with the Delta Hotel chain.

I stayed at the Delta Rocky Crest a couple of years ago and enjoyed myself. It is not far from Lake Joe for a Sunday round to head back to the city also.

i played all 3 earlier in the summer
stayed at Rocky Crest and Grandview
Rocky and Jo are within 40mins, grandview is about 1hr away from both
Rocky has the best accomandations by far, compared to Grandview.
Grandview-O'Meara design, most difficult out of the three, designed for club championships.
Rocky-most developed and my favourite.
Joe-ranks in the middle.

I suggest playing Grandview and driving down to Rocky for the first nite, Rocky second day, and lake joe 3rd day, short drive home.

Thanks Mike,
I stand corrected, I thought some of the travel agents still offered Bigwin bookings, even outside of the packages but it appears Bigwin is not offered by the agents anymore.
That said I would book it as part of any trip to Muskoka. Robert Thompson said the Ridge at Manitou is really good, I have not played it but it looks good.
I think Lake Joe and Rocky are too similar. I would want some variety on my trip and I think Grandview is quite different, I enjoyed it although not everyone will enjoy it the first time they play it. But I think that course would get better each time you play it. 18th hole is a little to severe for me but aside form that I like many of the shot options it offers.
Of the courses I have played I would go with Bigwin and Taboo first. Rocky Crest and Grandview would be tier two. Lake Jo and Deerhurst and then The Rock.
Good luck.
Pud.
